Went there to buy fabric for a school project with a budget of £20. Didn’t even need £10. The organisation of products was fantastic and there was a massive range of all things sewing. The staff were very polite and I got a 10% off student discount. I would thoroughly recommend this shop to anyone- adult, child wether you are on a budget or not. I would give it 10 stars if I could! Such a shame about the bad reviews which are from previous management. They definitely match up with my experience of the previous owner & her staff, who seemed to enjoy being incredibly rude, creating an unpleasant atmosphere in the shop. HOWEVER, the shop is under new ownership & has definitely moved on! They've given it a very necessary overhaul & brought in fab new staff - knowledgable, helpful, friendly staff!There is a much greater choice of both fabrics & yarn, with far more modern designs & patterns.It's lovely to see a full knitting section in there at last! So many gorgeous options!Having shopped here for 30 years because there was no choice (given the only other option is a miserable fabric shop in HH with awful lighting) I now go here just for fun and to browse! Previously, I'd only go there on a mission, because I needed fabric & I'd be in & out as quick as possible! Fashion and Fabrics has just been taken over by a new lady called Simone. I am so chuffed as she is bringing in loads of new trendy fabrics and a wider range of yarns.
