My husband and I came for lunch on Sunday. We hadn’t pre-booked, but the lady at the door found us a table. She pre warned us about the expected wait times, which we were grateful for as being a Sunday lunch time and we knew how busy it could get. Kaz was our server, she made the entire meal so much more pleasant. Nothing was too much to ask, she was friendly and checked in on us several times. We both ordered the roasts. The portion sizes were just right, the meat was beautifully cooked and so were the vegetables. Although the restaurant was busy, there was no slip in standards at all, just a slightly longer wait which we had already been told about! Thank you to Chef Dan, Kaz and the team, we will definitely be back. More...

At least 6 things on the menu were unavailable when we asked. The hunters chicken was way over cooked, and when I told the waiter I received no apology at all. Other than that the other food we had was lovely. More...

It was absolutely fantastic to have so much choice of gluten free options from the usual menu and the Sunday roast options. The staff were very friendly and informative. The food we both opted for lamb shank was flavoursome and a good sized portion. Good choice of desserts, as a coeliac it was joyful to not be confined to the chocolate brownie or ice cream choice. Came here tonight with my partner for the first time since the refurbishment and what can I say, but well done to you guys.
The staff are super friendly and well attentive, with a new large menu for drinks & foods. Nothing was an issue, they checked for any intolerances or allergies to help guide through the menu and the new decor really sets a high tone, we booked online with ease and had confirmation for the booking right away. Will definitely be back again! Perfect for any occasion and they now have even more seating inside & outside for both small & large parties. Very open spacious restaurant. Quick service and the staff check back multiple times to make sure your evening is going as best as possible.
Such a vast improvement from when it was The Falcon. Well done 👏🏼👏🏼
We will be back again soon!

Booked a table online with nearly a week's notice, hadn't had a confirmation email so tried calling 2 days before and the day before with no answer, managed to get through on the day to then be put through to the manager who advised that they'd had to reject the booking, along with lots of others, as they were fully booked. When I told her that I hadn't received any emails or calls to advise the booking was rejected, and that they may have other parties in the same boat, I was abruptly told that they would speak to their IT department and then the line was cut off. I appreciate they were busy but the attitude was completely unnecessary and it's not like the staff or establishment were new so there really was no need to be so rude, especially to a local family who had previously been, and would have been potentially continued to be, regular customers. We had a super lunch at the newly re-furbished Pear & Trawl. The service was outstanding and our server,Maddie, was excellent. The whole place has been decorated sympathetically to a very high standard. It was very busy but nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing & very reasonable. At no time did we feel rushed. Thank you. More...

Really bad, would expect so much better from Marston, we went in on the last day of our holiday expecting a nice evening only to be told they had only one lager, carlsberg, because they were closing for a refurb. Ok then we tried to order, first choice, a vegetarian meal was not available so we had to have something else. Asked for a Chardonnay, only to be told there wasn't any, Pepercorn sauce? No! What else haven't they got? And they're still planning on opening tomorrow, Sunday lunch. Marston let us Down. Very poor More...

Been on holiday in Wadebridge for the week and wish we’d found this place earlier! After a few nightmarish evenings out, this was a lovely end to our holiday. We got the impression they are slightly understaffed, but the staff were working so hard and never stopped moving. They were upbeat, cheerful, polite and helpful - even gave us recommendations from the menu that they really liked themselves! It was a quiet evening but gradually got busier. We didn’t wait too long for anything and they did keep looking to check we were okay or ready for anything else. Cheap, affordable meals and drinks. Calm, relaxing atmosphere. Clean and well-decorated. Lots of condiments ready for use at each table (perfect as we’ve been stuck using packet sauces all week!). Portion sizes were huge and well presented. Our one little nitpick might be that the food wasn’t very warm, but given how busy the staff were working, we weren’t fussed because the food was lovely. Thank you for a lovely dinner and evening. Would recommend and return. If we’d found you earlier on our trip, we’d have visited more times. More...

We booked the restaurant in advance of coming down to Cornwall to ensure we could get in.
The service was extremely slow, no zonal areas that somebody took care of.
. One of the waitresses was more interested in speaking to a known male eating at the restaurant, rather than checking to see if the other guests were ok.
We waited 45 minutes for two starters and after an hour and a quarter we had to chase up our main courses, which were mediocre and nothing to write home about when we finally got it.
Nobody came to ask if we wanted more drinks until we chased up our main course.
We weren’t the only ones complaining this evening either, at least half of the people there were complaining.
If they were short staffed and came and explained this to us, then it wouldn’t have been so bad but there was nothing.
We eat at other Marston’s and have never had such a poor service.
I wouldn’t recommend eating here - if you are looking for somewhere nice and welcoming try the Ship Inn in Wadebridge.

Really good service and dog friendly too. Squeezed us in even though we hadn't booked. It was a limited menu on this visit due to staff isolating but there was still plenty to choose from and we really enjoyed our food. Would visit again next time we are in Wadebridge More...
