I'm extremely happy with my hair cut that I got from Marisol! I ended up cutting more than I had originally planned, but it was a very good decision. So far everyone who knows me has absolutely loved how I got my hair cut! I chose Shear Envy due to the nice reviews on Yelp and their result photos, and I'm glad I decided to go with them. They are absolutely great! I scheduled my appointment through the Yelp app in the evening, and Ashley answered pretty quickly. When I went to my appointment, I walked in, I was welcomed and waited for about 10ish minutes while Marisol finished with her previous client. They have a very cute sitting area and have trays of hair clips which I believe you can buy. I will totally come back to get my hair done and another future hair cut. Thanks Marisol! So I usually go to a less fancy place for a haircut as I tend not to spend more than $20. But since it had been about a year or more, I decided to splurge. So I call to inquire and the woman was beyond nice and she set me up with a same day appointment. This place is located in downtown Chula Vista so parking might be hard depending on the time of day. Luckily I got a spot right in front. Was greeted nicely upon arriving and waited less than a minute. My stylist was Xavier and he was beyond nice. Kept the conversation going without any awkward silences in between. He washed (you get a scalp and neck massage too), cut and styled my hair. I highly recommend this place. From the initial phone call to the end result, everything exceeded my expectations. Usually upscale hair salons make you feel awkward and out of place but here I felt welcomed and appreciated. I came here based on the reviews on Yelp.  I was not disappointed.  Xavier did an amazing job, listened to my special needs since my hair is extremely straight and needs extra attention to cut it short and still add volume to the look. I will certainly be back.

My first experience was inquiring about getting my hair done for my wedding as well as bridesmaids. From the very beginning everyone was so friendly and professional. Laura is absolutely incredible! Not a single hair fell out of place the entire night of the wedding! Not only that, she was honest about my hair losing the texture of the curls with my hair being so dark at the time. So we put in some baby highlights and it was better than I had ever imagined it would be! She’s fun. She’s spunky. She’s super creative. One time she asked what I wanted to do and I told her to do whatever. I ended up with a gorgeous head of purple hair that was amazing for fall. Balayage. Highlights. Dark hair. She can do it all! My MIL came into town & found a Groupon for Shear Envy, came back to me & raved about them. I moved to SD 5 years ago & still hadn't found a salon I loved. In need of a trim, I went in. Rebecca was fantastic! As a new mom, I was throwing my hair in a bun & never dealing with it. I asked her what she thought for something new & low maintenance & boy l, did she deliver. I went from hair in the middle of my back to right below my shoulders with long layers. She even showed me how to style it the way that she did. My first time going to a salon and it was INCREDIBLE! They greet you as soon as you come in the door, make you feel welcomed. I loved every minute of it, songs were on point. I had balayage done by Monik today and i love it! She color correct my horrible brassy hair from another balayage job, touch up my gray hair and cut as well. Color turned out great given my hideous initial crazy orange color hairdo. I am so glad i found her. Go find her and you will not be disappointed. Well I got the sudden urge to chop my hair off after almost 5 years of having it long. Of course it's a Monday when most salons are closed so I reached out to my handy yelp app and found Shear Envy. I was able to book an appointment almost right away, right through the yelp app (cheers to management for that one) with someone they highly suggested, Rebeca. I will never go to another hair stylist again! I've had several Brazilian blowouts in the past that were super sub-par so I was very skeptical anyone could really handle my hair, but Shamara convinced me to try the Brazilian blowout one more time with her. I am beyond content with the results! Adrianna did an amazing job with my very difficult black box-dyed hair (oops)!! I came in for a consultation and Adrianna was professional, kind, and excited as she expressed her plan for my hair. She also gave me an accurate estimate of what to expect to pay: 220 for balayage for long hair plus 20 for every high foil (not included as part of a balayage).  When I arrived to the appointment, I instantly felt the warm welcome from every employee. Adrianna has a dynamic and vibrant personality that enabled myself to feel comfortable. The salon itself is a beautiful space. My favorite parts include: complimentary water, massage chairs, piano for music playing, and organic hair products. This is by far the best salon I have found in the San Diego/Chula Vista area.  To start I contacted them via Yelp to see if they had any immediate openings for my daughter and myself.  The owner Anne went above and beyond to work her magic and was able to fit us in the next day.  We arrived early and were given the "inside scoop" on the best coffee shop within walking distance while we waited which was a fun side trip.  We were in our chairs right at our scheduled time.  Rebecca did my hair and did an amazing job. She not only gave me the best advice for my hair/face but also cut and colored it in a way I could style it myself (which is rare). This was my daughter's first salon experince and her stylist Magadel made it the best first experience out of a movie, she looked beautiful and was beaming ear to ear.  Both stylist put the health of our hair first and guided us to styles that looked terrific, felt great, were manageable and maintainable.  The atmosphere is welcoming and fun and the prices were unbeatable. My experience was average and the price was reasonable. I got a full foil to go blonder and the blending was nice. I have thick hair and find it hard to find stylists who know how to thin it out the way I like it. My stylist did an okay job with thinning my hair. I am going to try another salon ONLY for that reason (I was satisfied with everything else). My stylist was professional and friendly.I would recommend contacting the stylist you choose beforehand to discuss what you want done. I contacted her and sent her pictures of my hair so she could see what she was working with. I often run over my appt time because of my hair. I appreciated her suggestions and letting me know the cost beforehand.The salon is averagely clean. I did notice hair/dust on the baseboards and product splatter on the walls but I understand that comes with the job. It is tastefully decorated and has "trendy" atmosphere. More...
