Edouard helped me make changes in my career and personal life that I'd been holding off for so long. Don't know how I would have done it without the skills I learnt and the one-on-one supervision I received. Only wish I had found him years ago. More...

Monsieur d'Araille successfully helped me to shift from a dead-end job into the securities and investment arena. I still can't believe how quickly it all happened. My belief in myself and what I could achieve just sky-rocketed over a period of just three months within which I initiated my career-change. I still see him for follow-up support, such a life-changing coach More...

We got help for our daughter with her English Language and Literature GCSEs from 2018-2020. Even though estimated grades were used in the end, Sophia wouldn't have got the 8 and 9 grades that she did without Edouard's meticulous guidance. Finally she got to terms with how to write essays after saying that she could never do the essay questions. So grateful to Edouard as Sophia is doing her A Levels and is doing English Literature, which she used to say she hated! More...

Top-notch teaching from Edouard. Our son was failing in Maths, Science and English and with this tutor's help he was able to pass all three exams and get a place on AS courses and stay in education. Can't thank Edouard enough. He showed Tom how to make light work of the exams and beat his exam stress as well. Easy to communicate with to arrange lessons. More...

Getting Ben to do his maths was always the hardest thing of all. Thank God we booked Mr. d'Araille as he turned GCSE maths into fun for our son. In fact, he even managed to get him to do his homework for school, which had never happened before. Beniamin never got higher than a grade 3 before he started lessons but within half a year he went to the top of his class and he has now been estimated an 8/9. We're not letting go of Edouard until Ben finishes his exams, though it looks like this will now be based on his estimated grades. More...

Mr. d'Araille taught was called up to help our daughter with Chemistry. It looked like we had run out of time in 2019, but from February to May he helped her turn her grade from an estimated 4 into an actual 8. We are so grateful for the work he did with her as it has made such a difference. Laurie is now studying Chemistry at AS Level and wants to study further. As for our own communications with him, Edouard was always accommodating and polite and whenever he was unable to give a lesson in person, he offered online tuition and this worked out just as well. Our daughter never stops saying that he is the best teacher she has ever had and that she wishes all the teachers at school made learning as easy as him. 5***** More...

I needed to consult with a professional author regarding a book that I am submitting to publishers. Edouard really helped me improved the quality of my writing like Grammarly never would have. Even though I took A Level English, he taught me so much more than I eve could have from courses or books. Enjoyed every minute of it. Recommend him highly. More...

Q&As

I love teaching because it is such a real way in which I can share my learning with others. I always loved learning, ever since I was first in school. I know that some teachers do put students off learning, and I feel that this is a shame. Learning can be so enjoyable and nothing is better than teaching someone and seeing the glint of enthusiasm in their eyes - the joy of learning new things. That is perhaps what I love most about teaching people. Every experience can be potentially so rewarding.

My fellow students at school, some of whom needed help with the subjects they were studying, are the ones who inspired me to start teaching. First, I helped students with Chemistry, English, Religious Studies, Music, French, Philosophy - and it just went on form there. I realized that what most people have a problem with is the learning process itself. I studied the skills of Reading, Memory, Thinking and Writing for many years - and in the end I have written guides covering each of those areas. I was inspired to start teaching professionally out of a desire to make studying easier and more enjoyable, especially to give students the satisfaction of being able to attain higher grades and to accomplish more. My pupils have always been my real inspiration.

I am not going to try and convince any of you to learn with me as opposed to the other tutors available on Bark. I am sure there are many inspiring teachers and some of them may be the perfect fit for you. If, however, you find that you need a special degree of attention helping out with the learning process itself and you are eager to read better, memorize more easily, think in a sharper way and write more accurately - then, perhaps, I may be the teacher who you are looking for. If you want to enjoy the learning process more and get on top of your exams (not let them get on top of you!) then I think that I will be able to help you. I want to assist you in 'Ace'-ing your subjects and outperforming every level that you thought you were capable of. Choose me if that's what you want!

I have been teaching online for over ten years and I find that Skype and Zoom are both suitable platforms in order to teach remotely. However, if there is another App that you would like to use in order to teach you, then I would be very happy to download it and see if that works well. Teaching online is a very successful way to work as it is so easy to share links and resources and to engage in a one-on-one dialogue with my students. I have taught single pupils and group lessons online and these have been just as rewarding as teaching in person. I teach pupils as far away as China and Brazil - and as close as Leeds and Shrewsbury. At present, due to the Coronavirus Restriction in the UK, I am only teaching pupils online.

As stated in my previous answer, I am currently only teaching pupils online as this is a measure that has been prescribed by the government. As soon as restrictions life, it is possible that tutors will be able to teach lessons in person once again. National and Regional news will update regarding this.

Services

Easy methods of learning taught from the very first years. Teaching the Alphabet with and without Phonics, as well as the rapid appreciation of Letters and Numbers. Memory skills are improved where required. Reasoning ability is exercised and the young student is taught how to think creatively also, able to solve all kinds of puzzles. There is all the way through a focus on an appreciation of what we perceive (experience directly) and conceive of (think about). Progress is demonstrable through the administration of some tests.

Effective methods of learning are instilled in the student. Teaching the ability to understand and create sentences that express ideas and stories, as well as the ability to read all kinds of materials and understand diagrammatic data. Memory skills are further explored at this age. Reasoning ability is pushed to function actively and with a decrease in error levels. The growing student is promoted to think inventively and to explore what is called 'Lateral Thinking'.

The most effective combination of learning skills is now pursued with the student so as to master advanced level exams. Learning how to fully comprehend and analyse complex texts with a mature level of critical attention, is taught to students at this level. Memory skills and Reasoning abilities are pushed to new levels, while at no previous stage has the need to think independently been more important than here. The ability to manage interviews successfully is considered, at the possible transition point to University or College.

At all ages, there is the possibility of a student facing a specific exam, for example - to gain entrance to a school or university. 11+ and other entrance exams are trained for and the requisite Verbal and Mathematical Skills are taught, in some cases Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Entrance to universities via examination and interview is coached, including the Oxbridge Entrance Exams and exactly how to successfully negotiate the interview stage.

Full-level coaching is provided for the process of taking a diploma or degree course. For first and second year students, the teaching of advanced essay-writing skills is taught as standard and the ability to do accurate referencing and make convincing presentations also. Final year work (such as Dissertations) or Postgraduate writing like that of a Thesis, is coached through from first stage to last. Any students or writers in peril at some point within a writing process may find this level of coaching helpful so as to resolve their problems.

Where skills have not been attained successfully at an earlier stage - for whatever reason - with this type of teaching Edouard d'Araille uses all the same advanced learning techniques that can be applied at the earliest to the most advanced levels. Catching up on the elements of Literacy and Numeracy that have been missed, is taught in a simple series of learning stages. In some cases, after accidents or strokes, the Relearning of Maths, English and other subjects can be greatly assisted by applying advanced learning techniques.
