Edible Landscaping

I discovered the edible garden through a leaflet for one of Michelle’s classes. Wow I thought, that’s the kind of gardening I could get into. And I did. And I love it. Michelle designed us a garden that produces the kind of fruit, herbs, salads and flowers the family love to use in cooking and baking or just eating off the plant. She spent the day with us finding out what we liked and what we could manage given our gardening skills, knowledge and time. She worked with hard landscapists to make sure the garden elements (pond, winding path, deck, patio) fit with the house style (inside and outside). She was also a thoughtful designer and worked to be complementary with the neighbours’ trees and existing planting on long border walls. This is the third year of the garden now and it’s still a joy to look at, and just keeps getting better. I feel that I can call myself a gardener now, and year on year our family is enjoying learning more about the plants we can eat to add to the garden. Even the teenagers have a say, suggesting kiwi berries this year. I still consult with Michelle, and she’s always willing to come by for a garden walkabout to update the garden and continue making it an adventure. It’s a pleasure and real joy to recommend Michelle for garden design and the edible garden itself. Everyone loves our garden and for us too it has become a very loved place in our home. More...

We hired Michele to work on the one day plan for our front garden. It was a fascinating process and we have been left with a detailed and comprehensive landscape and planting plan. I can't wait to get started! As a novice gardener it has definitely given me confidence to move forward with our plans without the fear of making expensive mistakes. I had followed Michelle’s work on edible landscapes via facebook for a couple of years before we actually met. I was the chairman of an allotment site and heavily into urban vegetable gardening. When i moved house to a semi rural area I invited Micheal to design an edible garden for my family. The garden is part of a new build with a narrow steep slope facing north. We are in the coast too and the garden had no structure at all. I just couldn’t work out how to tackle it. Hence instructing a garden designer.

I thoroughly enjoyed the process of having a garden designed by Michelle. I wanted to be able to grow vegetable at home whole also having a pretty space for the family to use. I have 3 children aged 9, 11 and 11 so the space had to work for them too.



I didn’t actually tackle the vast majority of the garden for two years. Lockdown focused us and we used Nicholas a landscaper recommended by Michelle. We jigged a few things around but the design was defiantly still that made by Michelle.


It was fantastic to have a list of plants also marked on the design. I moved several around BUT i incorporated the vast majority. The list was a god send and really makes the garden. They work perfectly with the landscaping.



We now have an extremely attractive biodiverse garden with all the elements i wanted!!! Thank you!!! I’m delighted beyond worlds! More...
