Hi Judith

I just wanted to say a big thank you to you first and foremost for the time and effort you have given me and secondly to try and give a write up of the excellent service you offer from start to finish based on my experience.

As a total novice to the world of triathlons I was inspired after watching the Kona 2013 documentary on YouTube whilst working away. This sport looked like it would offer me a great experience and challenge whilst getting fit along the way, so I thought right stop thinking and get doing. I had trainers, check, swim like an anchor, check (need to work on that then, check), haven’t got a road bike…………..hmmmm how do I go about choosing the right one?

I got given Judith’s contact details by a friend of mine who rides and races on time trial events so I thought I would get in touch and see what the best forward was. Following this I booked to have the Muve bike fit carried out and then I thought I would select a road bike based on the data as I thought why not start out with the correct bike rather than buying one and trying to make it fit afterwards. At the same time I also decided to get my mountain bike set up as this has been my main hobby, we had a few technical difficulties in setting up the bike due to the Maxle design on my mountain bike which we managed to resolve using Heath Robinson Engineering on my part and some of Judith’s tools, it worked a treat though and all adjustments were made and the bike has been set this way since.

The detailed reports given by Judith as a result of the Muve fit allowed me the time to try and find the best bike to suit me, prior to having the Muve Fit I was going to buy a Giant Defy but as we found out using the frame finder tool this would have been a terrible choice and total waste of money as it was totally the wrong geometry for me. After hours of internet searching looking at bikes and geometry, I narrowed it down to a choice between two bikes, one was from Canyon based in Germany and the other was from PlanetX based in Sheffield. The geometry was slightly better on the Canyon but not significantly enough and I thought I would buy British, well Chinese I would think but a British company! I asked for Judith’s opinion on this and as always she was as helpful and impartial as ever and we decided on a size small frame, PlanetX recommended the X small just for information when I visited the shop, but Judith and myself agreed the small was more relevant.

The bike arrived (eventually, long story and not the best customer service from PlanetX) and I booked in to have the bike set up, we got set up and put the bike on the Retul system and a couple of minor tweaks to the saddle position and it was bang on the money straight out of the box so you can’t get better than that can you? So if there was any question of doubt that having a muve fit was a worthwhile thing to have done then I would say absolutely most positively yes!

Once the bike was set correctly we did a performance test which will be excellent to see how things improve (or maybe not!) over the coming year with training for my first triathlon. We also went through some transition training for T1 and T2 which was very useful and will no doubt save me the shame over having an epic fail at any of these points, well maybe not but at least I now have some idea as opposed to no idea!

So just to summarize, the service was excellent, Judith is a superstar and has a very relaxed way of explaining things that makes it easy to get your head around, well especially for me it was. The information she give is informative, interesting and also very useful.

Once again I just would like to say thank you and look forward to going back after completing my first triathlon.

Well done Judith, fantastic to see you fitting athletes on the Retul system. It's without doubt the best way to get the most out of your bike

Hi Judith & Dan. Just a brief update following my Retul bike fit on Thursday with you guys. I've been out for a 40 mile ride today and I have to report that it was probably the most comfortable bike ride that I've ever been on! Not a twinge from my back and knees for the whole ride. My feet were free from the usual hot spots although I did loosen the shoes off quite a bit this time but that didn't result in any lack in power transfer. The one thing I did notice was a bit of pins & needles in my right wrist but I am more than sure that I can resolve that with some padded gloves. So, it looks like I've really benefited from your expert guidance and bike correction. I'll keep you posted with how I get on with the longer distances but for now it's looking good!!! Thank you. Hi Judith, just wanted to say that the Secret Training Products kept myself and some of friends very comfortable during our recent Lands End to John O'Groats cycle ride over 9 days. For over 950 miles the anti chafing cream worked a treat..... no one sore. The lip balm was good and very easy to use in the tube and didn't get lost in my back pocket. The hand sanitiser proved invaluable as we didn't stop at many cafes etc on route and the sun cream was very easy to use and not messy. To cap it all, the bag was a great idea as I actually managed to keep every together whilst on the road. Definitely a very good buy all round. A BIG thank you More...
