I’ve been attending this class since the beginning of April and I really would recommend it to anyone interested in self defence & fitness. Catering to different ability levels, there’s something for everyone at this class. The instructors & students are friendly and welcoming to new-comers, and there is a sense of camaraderie amongst the group. With classes in Bracknell, & Reading it’s really convenient to train. And with the first session free of charge it’s well worth coming along to check it out. More...

I started in Feb 18 having never done anything like this before. It’s great fun, good for fitness but above all its real street level self defence. And while I hope I never need to use it for real, I’ll be glad I learnt it if I’m ever in that situation. Knowledgeable and patient instructors teaching real life self defence skills. Best bit, your first class is free so you can ‘try before you buy’! More...

I moved to a new area and was looking for a new martial art. I wanted to try a different style from Japanese and Chinese styles I had practiced on and off over nearly 20 years. I knew what I wanted, and what I didn't want. Top of the list for me was that it had to be a true martial art; it had to be effective, have real-world applications and be based on combat. It had to be the type of martial art that if I ever had to use it, then any opponent would get the message quickly that I was not to be messed with and that they should rethink their next move. Personally I have never been into styles that only work in the movies or are sports-based. There is nothing wrong with those if that is your thing; it's just not mine. The style needed to be accessible in all places at all times, not just when the conditions were perfect. It needed to be efficient and quick. It had to have progression at its core; I would become a better martial artist with every lesson. I had to want to be hungry to keep going and learn more. Finally, being in my thirties, it had to be safe for my body - I had to be sure I would still have some cartilage left in my joints! Lee offered me two free sessions at Defence Lab Bracknell to trial it, but I knew within the first half of the first session my criteria had been met. The guys at Bracknell also make it an enjoyable martial art - they know when to train hard and when to have a laugh, and when to work as a team. If you haven't tried Defence Lab yet I can highly recommend it - both as a martial art and as a team down in Bracknell. More...

There are a lot of Martial Arts out there, but most hark back to the days of the Samurai!.. And as effective as they are, Very few are conditioned to the reality of modern violence, unprovoked attack, robbery and assault. Coming from a background in traditional Martial Arts (myself), Defence Lab IS different... And it does exactly what it says on the tin... Teaches you to 'Defend' yourself (Right from its VERY FIRST move) in 'real life' situations. Great Club, Great People, Excellent Instructor; so if you want to be able to defend yourself, or just want to get fit with a purpose... This is a Great place to do it. Thanks to everyone in the Club that have made me SO welcome. More...

Defence Lab is addictive! I have been going now for over a year and I look forward to every class. I am blown away each week with what we learn. I have lost over 3 stone from my training and this in its self keeps me going back for more. The Instructors and team are amazing and make everyone feel welcome. Come and try it! I believe Defence Lab is the best Self Defence system around. More...
