Formby, Merseyside
A contemporary wedding photographer that tells a story of the day, with a mixture of candid documentary images combined with modern, creative, editorial fashion photographs. I capture all the emotions, humour and interaction between the guests and the bride and groom without directing and orchestrating.

David has taken some photographs of my family for a recent family album we are putting together. The photos are just brilliant, I love them and he is great to work with. So helpful and friendly. I cannot believe how good value they were either considering the effort and time that he puts into it. More...

I recently asked David to take some images for my website for my holiday home. Not only are the photographs excellent and first rate, far better than I was expecting, but David is so easy to work with, very friendly and so professional. His honest and straightforward nature mean that he gets the job done, with the minimum of fuss. Highly recommended. More...
What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Three vital ingredients make a great photograph. 1. Lighting. 2. Composition. 3. Moment.
Once these are put together, it's then about some vision and creativity. Having the ability to imagine what you want the end result to look like and then using the skills learned over many years to achieve this.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Where, when, how, who and why. If it's a wedding, then the 'where' and 'when' are important to check for availability and details of the venue. Often if the location of the wedding is new to me, I will research it and normally go and have a look around to scout for the best backgrounds and look at various lighting, where the sun may rise and fall etc. 'How' does the client want me to shoot, is it a full day and which elements of the day do they want to be captured. 'Who' is getting married and 'who' do they want photographs of on the big day, It's always a good idea to get a prepared shot list so that nothing is missed and everybody knows what is expected. 'Why' is because the couple are in love and want the biggest day of their lives to be captured and treasured so the memories can last forever.
What do you love most about your job?
Wedding days are fantastic occasions and most people love a good wedding, To attend them as a job and enjoy each one alongside the bride, groom, their family and friends as they all have a great time and enjoy themselves whilst capturing all the humour, emotions and stories of the day so they can look back at them is an honour. Making the special couple feel special and then presenting them with results that they love is an amazing feeling.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I just love taking photographs and so when the opportunity to do that for a living came along, it had to be done. What a great job I have and I look forward to each wedding as though it is the first.
Why should our clients choose you?
I don't shoot for myself I shoot for my clients. It's the biggest day of their lives and there is huge pressure to get it right. There are no second chances, but I work best under pressure and look forward to it. Not every bride and groom is looking for the same results from their wedding photographer, so it's hugely important to listen to them. It doesn't get any bigger and more important than a wedding,
It's a huge decision choosing the right photographer, that is why I am happy to travel to meet clients before they decide, so they can check if they are comfortable with me as their chosen photographer.
