We booked Dan Tastic and Emily for our son’s 5th birthday party and since he is such a massive Harry Potter fan we chose the wizards and witches package and oh, wow! They did not disappoint! What a guy! Captain Dan Tastic came highly recommend and I’m so pleased he lived up (and surpassed) my expectations. He was friendly, entertaining, engaging and managed to hold the attention of 22 3-5 year olds for a whole two hours- not an easy feat. My 5 year old wants to do it all over again, and so do I! From the initial email contact, to meeting him on the day, Dan was enthusiastic and made me feel as though nothing was too much trouble. Booked this entertainer for a joint 5th party for my daughter and her classmate after seeing him perform at another party. He was again amazing . He had all the kids (almost 50) and adults entertained throughout. My daughter and her friend had an amazing time. Also love the gender equality message and will be using it with both my son and daughter going forwards. All the parents remarked how impressed with the entertainer they were. The best entertainer I've seen!!! We had Captain Dan Tastic for my son's 5th birthday pirate party. From the moment he walked through the door he made a big impression on my little boy. He introduced himself and made everyone feel at ease. I was worried that some children may be scared of him but the whole class were on board with all of his tricks, games and fun. The parents who came all said that they thought he was brilliant and took his leaflets for their own children. I was completely mesmerized throughout and thoroughly enjoyed the party myself too! We have had dan for two parties now. Last weekend he did a Star Wars party with his sidekick Em for our 6 year old. He entertained the kids for an hour and a half with fantastic, engaging and amusing tricks, stories and activities. They all loved the different elements of the story which were executed with enthusiasm and pazazz! They had really clever tricks which wowed the kids (and the adults!) A number of parents told me how much they had enjoyed the show and that him and Em were the best entertainers they had seen over lots and lots of parties. We couldn’t rate them highly enough! Captain Dan Tastic and Em-azing mermaid are quite simply the best party entertainers we have ever had. Our twins have had them for two parties now (different themes) and have had an absolute blast both times. The range of activities is brilliant and they pack as much fun in from start to finish. We booked Captain Dan for our son, William’s 5th birthday party yesterday. I am probably going to say much of what has been said before in previous reviews. ...he was FANTASTIC.
He kept 45 children entertained for two hours solid. Even those slightly older party guests (aged 8/9+) soon dropped the “too cool for a five years olds party games” front and couldn’t help but join in the fun.
So many parents made a point of coming over to thank us for inviting their child to the party and to comment on how brilliant they thought the entertainment was. I’ve had texts since the party saying similar too.
Dan really made William feel special by picking him out to help with tricks and games. He also gave William an engraved little treasure chest with a pirate bracelet and ring inside as a gift - this was a lovely touch.
All in all, my husband and I were absolutely thrilled with how the party went.
Thank you captain Dan....you’ll be hearing from us again next year as both William and Isla-Rose are already planning a joint party with you as entertainment! More...

Five stars for a five star Pirate!

Dan's boundless enthusiasm and repertoire of magic tricks, games & activities kept twenty five 4-5 year olds thoroughly engaged for a full one and a half hours which I know, from the entertainers that I've seen at other parties, is no mean feat. He managed to keep the whole group together with no kids wandering off doing their own thing, with minimal input from the watching parents who were able to sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

I particularly liked the way he engaged with all the kids (even managing to remember many of their names!) but still singled the birthday boy out for some special attention every now and again. He cleverly avoided winners and losers in his games and mixed up running around and sitting down activities to control the very high spirits. He had plenty of props to keep the interest going and the kids loved his magic tricks. Its clear that a lot of thought, backed up by experience, had gone into his preparations. It's difficult to find any fault but I would recommend that you check your little ones are happy with bursting balloons as we had a couple that weren't.

Judging by the reaction of the parents, I think they were as entertained (and impressed) as the kids - I certainly was.

Dan was a professional from start to finish, from handling our initial enquiry through to turning up on time and delivering the goods wholeheartedly.

It's a cliche I know but I certainly have no reservations about recommending the guy - a big thanks and pirate hats off to you Dan tastic! More...

From contacting Captain Dan to our party the whole experience was amazing. Captain Dan put us in the Captains log, we paid our deposit and patiently waited for his Ship to sail into port. I wanted an entertainer who would keep all the children engaged while appreciating that our little girl at times may not take part. Our little girl has autism and does get overwhelmed quite easily. So likes to take herself away. There was no pressure for her to be the centre of attention or be involved if she didn't want to be. When it was time for happy birthday she cried and refused to blow out her candles so all the children blew them out for her. I can honestly say the children as well as the adults loved our party. There was lots of squeals and laughter and no one was left out. I've received lots of messages after the party to say how incredible it was. I ordered some sword balloons that were given out at the end and Dan even provided extra incase any got broken. My husband watched the whole show with the biggest smile ever and would now like an excuse to do one for adults only including lots of grog. Can not recommend Dan enough worth every penny and some. Captain Dantastic and Princess Em-Mazing entertained a crowd of around 40 children at my aon’s 5th birthday party. The children were riveted and the birthday boy (who is usually quite shy) has an absolute ball and is begging to have another party just so he can have Captain Dantastic back! !!

Captain Dan Tastic is bloomin fantastic! This afternoon he had 30 very tired (just started reception) children absolutely eating out of the palm of his hand. From the second his shell horn blew they were all truly engaged and entertained and stayed that way for 2 hours. Such a fuss was made of the birthday boy I suspect he will be talking about it for years! I cannot recommend Captain Dan Tastic enough and suspect he is going to a staple of our parties for years to come in his different guises. We booked a Captain Dan pirate party for our daughters' joint 6th and 4th birthday as they wanted a magician and loved the idea of the pirate theme. Dan did a fantastic job of keeping all the children entertained and engaged throughout the party, not to mention the parents who kept commenting on how good it was! What a brilliant pirates and mermaids party for my daughter's 5th birthday! From beginning to end Captain Dan Tastic did a fantastic job keeping 15 children (and their parents) entertained with pirate tales, magic tricks, dancing & games packed into 2 high energy hours! Not a moment for the children to get bored or restless. My daughter can be quite shy at times but she loved being the star of the show, she felt completely at ease. Alongside Captain Dan Tastic, Em-Mazing worked her face painting magic on each of the children, they all looked fabulous. I just want to say thank you so much for the most amazing party for my sons 4th birthday! When I booked you to entertain him and his 20 friends I knew it would be a fab party but It completely exceeded all of our expectations. Not only did you thoroughly entertain the kids, keep them glued to their seats, make them laugh, squeal and scream but you also entertained the adults and looked like you were actually having a ball yourself! The kids watched in awe at meeting a 'real life pirate' and the whole show was action packed from beginning to end. We hired Captain Dan for my daughter’s fourth birthday party. She’s always loved pirates and in the weeks running up to her party, she was so excited to tell her friends that a ‘real’ pirate was coming to her party. Captain Dan was brilliant, he kept the 20 odd kids at our party entertained for the full two hours – and the adults too!! The shark game was a definite hit and so were the magic tricks. He had a great rapport with kids and kept even the most restless one’s engaged. The parents that stayed at our party all complimented him at the end and said how much they’d enjoyed it. He has a great sense of humour and I love the fact that he referenced that ‘even girls can be pirates’, his little motivational anecdotes were very much appreciated by several of my friends. Ahoy there Captain Dan!

Dan came to our primary school last week to kick start our new topic of Pirates and he certainly got us off to a great start.

The morning was spent finding out about a range of Pirate information. Dan is very knowledgeable on the subject and was fantastic at communicating with the children. He made them (and the teachers) laugh, showed them artifacts and got them completely involved. They were spellbound!

In the afternoon we had all 60 children in the hall and Dan had no problems keeping them entertained with games, songs and stories. It was pretty mad at times and the children absolutely loved it. Many described it as 'the best day ever' and we got some fantastic writing about Pirates the following day.

This is the second year that Dan has visited us, and we would definitely book again next year. More...
