Counselling

Lynda is such a warm person and I felt very at ease talking to her. I quickly felt like she was able to hear what I needed to say and to offer good support. I will definitely be passing her details onto people I know who could benefit from seeing her. More...

Q&As

I love being a counsellor and psychotherapist because I know from my own personal therapy journey how empowering and healing talking to a therapist can be. I am privileged to be able to work with my clients and help them to achieve the changes that they want to make to be able to live a fulfilled, authentic and happier life moving forward.

Through my own personal therapy journey I realised that I wanted to be able to help people like me, so I trained for 5 years to become a therapist and launched my own private practice 2 years ago. I can now offer to others what my therapist offered to me for many years.

Counselling or talking therapy is not just for when someone is in crisis or suicidal, it can be for anyone who is struggling with life in general with many issues like not being able to communicate well with people, feeling like you would like to be more confident and relaxed, learning how to communicate and resolve conflict and anger issues.
Counselling can be really healing if someone close to you has died, your relationship has ended, you have lost your job or freedom. You may want to be able to go for a promotion at work, but don't have the confidence to be able to move forward in your profession.
Counselling can also help if you have experienced physical or emotional trauma.
I work with many issues and can help you to make sense of your world and how you can find a way forward. I offer a safe, confidential, non judgemental service to people over 16 where we can explore your feelings and find a new way forward, at a pace that works for you, where you can say the unsayable.
If you would like to talk to about your needs, I offer a free phone call initially, so that you can explore your options and to see if you think I might be the therapist for you.

I offer face to face sessions in my room in Alton as well as online via Zoom/Skype or by phone, so location doesn't need to be a factor if you are able to work remotely online or by phone.

When working with clients in person in my room in Alton, I have implemented the Government's guidelines to ensure safety at all times. I ask all my clients to complete a Covid questionnaire before we begin our work together in person, I clean down all hot spots where there is any chance of surfaces being touched, between sessions, and have hand gel available for clients to use as the enter and leave the building.
Please contact me by email or text if you would like to see my risk assessment.
