CS Lets Ltd

Saw an advertisement on sparerooms for a room and tried to contact them atleast 15 times to get a hold of them. On the day of viewing the agent was 30 mins late (it was mentioned on the email try to come 10 mins earlier). Still I was booked for another room viewing which was out of my budget. And the agent told the room which I was looking for is gone (I could still see the advertisement on sparerooms). Before I could try to wrap my head around the situation there was another person there for the viewing and when I asked if I can still view the room the agent said it was gone. So unprofessional. The rooms are disgusting filthy and trashy! I spoke to the owner and he was very unprofessional and rude, shouting down the phone and being very uncourteous. The agents are incompetent and obscene, calling you 'mate' and 'bro' while absolutely ripping you off.

Absolutely terrible. There was a large patch of mould on the wall when I moved in, the letting agent didn’t have a key to access my room, so I had to cut one for him, and he kept a key for the property under the front door mat - the first place any potential burglar would check. I was also not invited to attend an inventory check before I moved in.

During my tenancy, the letting agent tried to make me pay 3 months rent “so that there would be no late payments” despite there being no obligation to do this in the AST Agreement.

After I left, I was accused of breaking a wardrobe and the bed by the director of CS Lets (who incidentally owns the company that supplies the furniture) and wanted to charge me £205 from my deposit for damage and cleaning. Luckily I took photos before I left and got all of my money back.

If you’re a student or a first time renter, don’t even consider using this agency as they will try and take advantage of you. More...
