My wife and I stayed for 2 nights as a planned stopover from Australia to Egypt. It was our first time in the UK and at that time of year it was very cold for us also having snowed in the area overnight. We pre-booked the Romeo & Juliet room on special. We were seeking character over modern niceties and that's what we got. We loved it as an experience. There was central heating with one radiator but we needed to use the extra fan heater as well. Our shower and toilet were separate from the room, so maybe bathrobes would be handy? Worth considering paying more for a room with ensuite More...

This hotel style B&B nestled in a quaint cotswold village was beautiful. We were warmly greeted by the chap on the front desk who was attentive even whilst we were waiting to be checked in. We were taken to our room, shown the facilities and it really felt like a personal touch and excellent start to our stay||||The room was stunning. Lots of little artefacts dotted about, a large tv at the end of the bed and although the bathroom was small, it was ample for us||||The room felt quite private, overlooked the lovely grounds and was really cosy||||Would we stay again? Absolutely... I recomend anyone should pay this B&B a visit, it wont dissapoint More...

A full English breakfast cooked to order was available along with cereals and danish pastries.||||The hotel was set in beautiful grounds with nice secure parking in a gated courtyard. The location was just perfect for a lovely trip into Cheltenham, there were plenty of local walks to do to if you were feeling energetic.||||Many thanks go to Jack, Tania and Jared for making our stay enjoyable, we will not hesitate in recommending your hotel to friends and family and hope to be back soon. Nice hotel to stay, good food, 1 star less because of the late check in fee. I travel for business and had to find an atm first since you have to pay it in cash Wont book it next time because of that ridiculous cash fee.

I travel alot for work so my motives differ from holiday makers. The Julius Caesar room was the last one left so I took it. The Holiday Inn was £70 more than the £94 I paid for bed and breakfast here.||The drive through the village was a wonderful experience to see the church and stone buildings aligning the narrow streets built centuries ago, there is virtually no modern developments in the charming village with several pubs which all seemed popular.||The house is huge set in immaculately tendered grounds with great views and an air of the past really grabs you. The greeting on arrival with a glass of very nice very cold cava was welcomed.||I was shown the room which seems to be recently refurbished and bears no relation to the harsh criticism of the shower room which was fine and the loo was not up against the wall. I have taken images from all angles for this room and labelled them so you can decide if you like the look of the beams or not. I am 6 foot 2 and I did knock my head a few times but I am still alive, the bed was fine and if you had a little lover you would be fine but don’t try lobbing a hippo on the bed because its not big enough.||The toiletries were OK and the water instantly hot, the flat screen 40inch TV was fine and cushions were spread everywhere, the place was very quiet and people respected it and others so I was not disturbed. The floors creak and the loos make a bit of a rattle but this is an old property.||The decor is absolutely perfect and the whole place is immaculate and spotless in fact I was staggered at how well the sculptures had been chosen and placed together with art blending perfectly with the different styles and colours as you walk through the house. There was clearly no expense spared on the luxurious soft furnishings the floorings the furniture the bespoke fitted units the chandeliers the custom radiators. What more could you possibly want it is listed as a BnB which doesn’t do it justice. It has clearly had millions spent on it and I very much doubt the investment will be repaid for a very long time, the other rooms look like they are worth £200-£300 a night as they are very impressive looking suites.||The breakfast was great and again there is nothing I can say that is negative.||See past a few creaks and quirks and if you don’t want a small cosy reasonably priced room in a five star residence spend more money and get a bigger one because it is worth it and it is in a lovely part of the world. We needed a night near Gloucester to attend an event, and wanted to visit the nearby Rococo Gardens in Painswick. The location, atmosphere, comfort were all excellent, and based on the high quality of breakfast, we were sorry that the restaurant was closed on a Monday night. The bed was cosy and comfortable, but bending to avoid hitting the ceiling beams, and getting into the long walk-in wardrobe in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ might have been a bit much for a longer stay ! However, the quirky feel of the English where the room was located, and the garden view were very positive aspects. The adjacent shower room was very clean and had good shower products provided.|Staff were friendly and helpful and we ate along the road at The Oak, which we’d recommend. We would certainly return on a future occasion if in the area. More...

What a little gem of a place to visit. Very comfortable & very welcoming. Although when we arrived I wasn’t sure I was in the right place as signage was not apparent. Just thought it was a lovely house behind some iron gates. The picture in the advert should perhaps show the driveway approach. Beautiful gardens and right next door to the church. Like a previous reviewer we were a little apprehensive about staying here as there is such a selection of different reviews swinging from fab to not so! ||We were glad we took the chance. We were warmly greeted and offered a sparkly drink, Our room was Julius Caesar and at the top of two flights of circular stairs. Not recommended for anyone with any mobility issue. The room is in the eaves of the house with beams which contrary to another reviewer did not pose any problem. The bathroom is small but perfectly adequate. The location within the property could be a negative for some so it's worth checking out which room you are getting (it as one of the cheaper options in fairness) the window is small and above the bed so although it looks out over the grounds it's not really a room with a view. The bed is a Double (not a King) We would have liked to have seen the other rooms but it was fully booked both nights we stayed. So this review is based purely on one room (Julius Caesar) and as all rooms are individually themed, bear that in mind.||As for the rest, the grounds are simply beautiful, outside seating areas and so on. The sitting room is comfortable (and hardly used) the decor is grand if not to everyone's taste. The breakfast was cooked to order and fresh pastries were delicious.||So, don't be put off this establishment, it's charming, it's full of character, it's friendly, it's picture postcard - it's the Cotswolds!
