Tread with cautionWe were refurbishing a large, heritage building and asked John to quote because it looked as though he had worked on similar properties. At first he was very charming, stating he was a 'finisher' and knew how much work it took to decorate old properties sensitively. He did zero prep work - which should be the largest part of a heritage job - then walked off site after a day and a half claiming he hadn't priced the job properly. At no point was he professional enough to have a conversation with us, admit his mistake and renegotiate the contract. More...
