I had several lessons with Chris last year which were excellent, he has great communication skills and an innovative approach to teaching that i found interesting and very effective. Sadly I had to stop the lessons due to serious illness at home.I do hope to continue my studies with Chris in the fullness of time. More...

Chris taught me for 6 years (2008-2014) from the very beginning. From the start he covered all the foundations of guitar playing (chords, scales, the basic techniques) with me, covering all with clarity and in an easy to understand way, such that my playing had a good solid basis. As time went by, we began to cover a very wide range of areas, going from jazz, acoustic finger-style, blues and rock, eventually venturing towards very technically difficult pieces (e.g. For The Love Of God by Steve Vai). With regards to such pieces, Chris had taught me every technique possible (that I can think of) to help me (attempt to) play these pieces, including teaching me some of the more obscure techniques like tapping and sweeping. Again, this was taught in a very clear way, also being very patient as I tried to get to grips with these ideas. Alongside all of this wide range of areas, Chris would also cover the theory behind stuff we covered, including things such as sight reading, chord theory etc., allowing me to develop as a musician as well as a guitarist. Chris has a great knowledge of all things guitar/music meaning I have been able to ask him questions about anything we have looked at/I may of looked at myself and there was never a scenario where he couldn't give me an answer or help. As a whole, Chris is a fantastic and diverse teacher/musician who has given me real motivation (which still remains) to pick up and play/practice the guitar and so for anyone wanting to learn the guitar, I really can't recommend him highly enough. What do you love most about your job?
Knowing I've helped students reach their goals is truly amazing to me! Teaching is a huge passion of mine, and being involved in one's journey whether it's learning a song a guitar that they couldn't do 1 month ago to gaining the confidence to sing on stage, is extremely rewarding to me.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Don't get me wrong, I love performing, but I've always found an educational environment to be more exciting, and always push to making teaching my main focus.
Why should our clients choose you?
Teaching is my passion, everything else whether it's guitar, or singing, is just a hobby!
With all my students, I always aim to make sure that they have a clear picture of the desired result in their head. My role as a teacher is to make sure I show them the technique I think will help them get there, but always encourage them to experiment. If they get to that desired result, I’m not going to bug them about the technique they’re using. I care more about the finished product than having students with perfect technique that can’t communicate their sound.
I tailor lesson plans for every individual student, providing detailed handout sheets, and audio recordings.
