Hi my name is James Howe, I started as a commis chef in 2006 and have loved it ever since! I trained in a lovely 4 star hotel in Scarborough, North York’s & on to Michelin starred restaurant in the Yorkshire dales. I got my first head chef role when I turned 22 and put my stamp on the culinary map.

James provided excellent all round service - a three course birthday dinner for nine. There was a varied and interesting seasonal menu to choose from and the portions were generous. The food was served on time and nicely presented. James himself was courteous and efficient, leaving the kitchen of our rented accommodation immaculately clean.The food was as described and reasonably priced. The starters and desserts were delicious. The main courses - sirloin steak and lamb cutlets - were slightly let down by the quality of the meat, although the flavours were good and we also did not have any properly sharp knives!We would definitely use James again and recommend him to others. We hold an annual friends Christmas party. This was the first time we have used a private chef, and will definitely be doing so again. The choice of menu that was available was amazing, almost too difficult to choose, and the company was great to deal with in the lead up to the event. On the night James arrived promptly and after being shown where everything was, just gone on with the preparation of the meal. Booked for the first time with James and he definitely lived up to his reputation! We booked a dinner party for 12 and despite there being a few fussy eaters in the camp, he customised everything to our individual needs. We’ve just had an amazing experience with chef at home, James the owner catered for our family for my husbands birthday. We had an amazing 3 course menu, including beef wellingtons for main and it was delicious. He left the kitchen spotless and really made the day special. Outstanding experience! James (the owner) and jac (his sous chef) were fantastic! They cooked us a beautiful 3 course meal from scratch, the scallops were cooked and seasoned beautifully, then beef was so tender and the creme brûlée was out of this world. I got my first head chef role when I turned 22 and put my stamp on the culinary map. In 2017 I moved in with my wife & started this business. Ever since I have gone from strength to strength. From a small catchment in Norfolk to National coverage and a growing team. Largely owed to my ‘philosophy’ – “British flavours, French Techniques, Yorkshire Portions”
What
I help you impress without the stress. Whether it’s a birthday party, hen night, anniversary, staff Christmas party or wedding. My team and I are here to make sure you have a fantastic meal that you can enjoy with your guests. I even do the washing up!
Where
I travel all over mainland UK & occasional trips to Europe (I may ask for a bit of extra cash for the plane!). It doesn’t matter if its your home, a holiday let, manor house or the top of a tower block. If I have an address, I can get to you
When
You can book me for events any day of the week. Saturdays are for obvious reasons the most booked up, so if you are looking at a Saturday get in touch quick!
On the day I arrive 2-3 hours before service with all the food needed, my trusty bag of knives and anything extra you may have asked for. All the important stuff.

You’d book me because I have 300+ clients that would recommend me without hesitation.
