Person-Centred Care
We put the individuals at the heart of their own care by getting to know their likes, dislikes, prefrences and tailoring their care to suit their needs and not the needs of the service
Mental Capacity
Before undertaking this role, we actively assess our clients mental capacity to identify if he/she have partial/limited or no capacity. We record what people can do well, use family/ carers and other professional where approriate for those who have limited or no capacity
Intimate Care-Gender Preferences
Generally where there are same gender staff availalble, a person of the same gender will offer support on intimate personal care (toileting and bathing) . If a person has a preference for same gender intimate care, it will be noted on their support/care plan and offered wherever possible but it cannot be guaranteed.
Active Support
Before undertaking any activity, we will ask whether it is the right time, check with our service user what is planned and then explain what will be done and enable choice at all times
