My name is Chris, I am an experienced BACP Accredited Counsellor/CBT Therapist working in Bristol & Somerset for face to face consultations and offering nationwide telephone appointments .

My interest is in successfully helping clients manage Anxiety, Stress, Depression, and improve Pain management. My recent experience involves working for Bristol University Student Counselling Service for 3 years and Bristol City Council Occupational Health for 12 years. Before that I have worked for Avon & Somerset Constabulary and Bristol Crown Court as well as managing a busy Private practice in Bristol & Somerset. I am fully DBS Checked.

I find it a genuine privilege to work with the clients I do and am pleased to have excellent available references for all the above mentioned roles should you wish to see.

A large part of my work includes working with clients presenting with Stress/Anxiety disorders that feel difficult to mange. My approach is to listen and help the client understand the brains role in ongoing Anxiety and work with the client so that they have the knowledge, skills and tools to become their own therapist. My sessions are cost effective in that they are usually short term 6 session appointments using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

Whilst I still feel the most important part of any Therapy is the trusting collaborative relationship between client and Therapist CBT helps you see the link between how we think determining largely how we feel. It really can help you deal with future problems differently.

I offer a Free 15 minute telephone appointment to see if we feel we can work together, if we are then we can arrange a session that can be weekly or fortnightly. Sessions can be face to face, Phone, Zoom or Skype and are priced at £45.00 per session. Due to the current corona virus pandemic and following government guidelines I am temporarily not able to see clients face to face. Due to the overwhelming need for support at present I am offering reduced rates of £30.00 for telephone appointments in March, April & May 2020.
