Catherine Hill Photography

Catherine is an outstanding photographer, I personally dislike having my photo taken and as a single mum, photos of my daughter and I together are few and far between. Catherine was so amazing, and I was put as ease in minutes, unlike my daughter who went straight into model mode. Catherine’s style is non-invasive, and you easily forget she’s taking photographs. Accompanying us on what are generally our normal (not overly exciting) weekend activities, Catherine ingeniously captured moments which perfectly depict our mother-daughter relationship. Her exposures and style are phenomenal; which not only have produced the most beautiful images, but portray our Island (Jersey, Channel Islands) so exquisitely they should be used as advertising for tourists to visit our pretty little island. Not only does Catherine produce extremely magnificent images which capture the most intimate little moments most people would miss she then adds to her extraordinary service by producing a slideshow with a selection of photos with carefully selected music to accompany it. The slideshow had me in tears, I was blown away. Not only was I overwhelmed by the beautiful photographs but without knowing Catherine chose a song that I used to sing to my daughter when she was little and is a perfect representation of the battles we have overcome together. My daughter keeps watching the slideshow on repeat, she loves it! When looking at the collection of photographs neither of us can choose a favourite because they are all so incredible. If you require a photographer for family photos, weddings, functions, advertising or just because you think it would be fun, I could not recommend Catherine enough. Her communication is efficient, friendly and professional. There are not enough stars to show a true representation of her talent, personality, kindness and creativity…A 5-star review is simply just not enough. Both my daughter and I will cherish Catherine’s photographs forever and we are incredibly grateful that we had the opportunity to meet her, experience her amazing service and be lucky enough to have such a momentous keepsake for years to come. Catherine was a gem from start to finish. I wanted to surprise my (now) fiancee on the Dover Cliffs with a proposal and have it captured on camera. She worked with me to develop a simple plan of how to surprise her yet also have her prepared to take good photos on a lovely day on the White Cliffs. We live in the US and came to London on holiday. She is highly personable, kind, and a delight to work with. During our shoot, she gave great guidance for and patience with two people who don't really spend a lot of time in front of cameras or instagram. She even took time to joke with us to help us loosen up in front of the camera. My fiance and I had an engagement shoot with Catherine on a beautiful beach in Jersey and from the moment we first met her we felt an instant rapport with her as she made us feel at ease and had some wonderfully creative ideas to capture the natural love and affection my partner and I have. When we saw our slide show and gallery of the photos we were absolutely overcome and over the moon with these treasured keepsakes. Catherine, the photos you took of our new family are absolutely stunning! Between one sleeping baby and two camera shy (and knackered! ) parents, I was a little anxious that there wouldn't be much to capture - but I was so wrong. You've done such a beautiful job; we adore the photographs and will treasure them forever. You captured some of Evie's little mannerisms; the way she stretches, her little yawn and that gummy smile - things that I'm sure she'll outgrow in the blink of an eye - so perfectly. Catherine was our wedding photographer in September 2018 and from the very first conversation with her about our wedding it was clear that she understood what we were trying to achieve for our day and that she would be able to help us capture it. Our wedding photographs are wonderful and tell the story of our day very very beautifully. Catherine was so lovely to work with, communication was easy and she helped us to feel comfortable, even when that didn’t always come naturally to us in front of the camera. Catherine has a great deal of experience, which was evident in the way she was able to help us think about key parts of our day and logistics in the lead up to the wedding. We can not Thank Catherine enough for capturing our very special family moments and creating memories that we now have to look back on forever. Catherine really is fantastic at what she does. She’s so easy going she made our whole family feel comfortable during our time with her and it was just like spending time with a good friend. We first met Catherine in 2012 and fell in love with her style of photography so we booked her for our wedding. We still look back at our engagement shoot and wedding album. Now that we have a daughter we wanted to capture some special moments with her. Our daughter is growing up fast and we didn't want to regret not having photos whilst she is young. We both work and don't get much time as a family, let alone family photos.We instantly asked Catherine if she would do a family photo shoot. We were so pleased that she said yes as we love the natural photos that she takes.Catherine suggested a beautiful location where we walked, played and laughed together as a family. Catherine made the experience really enjoyable and relaxed.Catherine had captured the most stunning and natural photos. We were over the moon with them. We can't wait to show them off to all of our friends and families. We hope to frame some for our house and give some to our families as a gift at Christmas.We would highly recommend having a family photo shoot especially whilst your child is young. We asked Catherine to be our photographer for our wedding in 2010. Since doing such a fantastic documentation of our day she is now a regular at family and friends weddings. We were so pleased to hear that Catherine had started doing family shoots. Our children are now 4 and 6 so we thought it would be a fantastic time to capture these precious moments. Catherine suggested we went somewhere that the children are familiar with. We opted for a walk around our local woods. Catherine was so natural in her approach. The children literally forgot she was there. She was so accommodating when I asked if some of my extended family could come around to capture some shots too. Catherine not only has an amazing talent but has such a lovely manor when capturing memories. The photos she has produced literally brought me to tears. Having worked within the photography field, I had been familiar with (and a fan of) Catherine’s work for a while. So, when my other half popped the question in August last year, Catherine was the first person I got in touch with, after the obligatory informing of the family members! :)The reason we loved Catherine’s work was her ability to catch ‘the moment’, while not compromising on quality and composition, and when our images arrived a few weeks after our special day – we were certainly not disappointed. Catherine was our wedding photographer and so much more. She was absolutely brilliant. From the moment that we reached out to Catherine she was always quick to get back to us, answering questions and generally helped us with elements of the order of the day that we were unsure of having never done this before! My husband is a photographer and so choosing the right photographer was really important to us. As soon as we met Catherine his words to me were 'she's perfect'- the documentary style was just what we were after and the end results didn't disappoint. On the day Catherine was everywhere but not to be seen, blending into the background and capturing it all. For the group photos Catherine did an amazing job of arranging people with perfect tact! So many of our guests afterwards remarked on how wonderful Catherine was too. When we received our USBs of the photos only a few weeks later it was beautifully packaged. The photos were all we'd hoped for and more. I love looking through our photos. I could do it over and over again as they bring back so many great memories having been captured so beautifully. Then, thinking we had received everything from Catherine, a few weeks later she wrote the most beautiful blog/account of our day and it was so so wonderful to read and something I will keep. Trying to find the right photographer for your wedding is quite a daunting prospect as you not only want to be able to capture all of the special moments of your big day, but you also want them to be a keep sake to look back on for years to come. So the pressure to get it right was huge and we didnt really know where to start, but as soon as we found Catherine we knew that we had found exactly what we had been looking for!

Catherine has such a warm, helpful and non-obtrusive approach and we felt that she would fit in to our wedding without us feeling awkward in front of the camera and without us really noticing that there was a photographer present during all of the special moments.

On the lead up to our wedding Catherine was always quick to respond to emails and we never felt like a pushy bride or groom, but always felt that she genuinely cared about us and our experience. During our wedding day we had a few of the organised photos with family, but the best ones were when we didn't even notice that Catherine was there and she managed to capture all of the happiness of the day.

We absolutely can't thank Catherine enough for out amazing photos and would recommend her to any couple who are looking for a photographer for their special day.

We absolutely love the pictures that Catherine took at our wedding on 30th May 2017 - they’re brilliant! We really love the way they tell the story of the day so well and captures the happy expression of our friends and family on our special day. We both enjoyed seeing pictures of the parts of the day we couldn’t be around to see in person especially the preparation for the ceremony. We are amazed at how Catherine managed to spot all the small details of the day, as well as recording the big events. She seemed to be everywhere all of the time, and yet she was so discrete and completely blended in - we hardly noticed she was there. She was a lovely person to have as part of our day.

We had an excellent experience with Catherine – from first meeting over Skype nearly a year before our big day, to meeting up in person a month before the wedding, and having a final Skype a few days before. We felt reassured by Catherine’s professionalism the whole way through, and it was a real pleasure to have her there with us to capture all the best bits for us to remember in the future.

From start to finish we were provided with an extremely high quality service. From the initial meeting, we were impressed with Catherine's previous work which was clearly of a high standard. We found choosing a photographer for our wedding a bit of a daunting task - there are so many out there to choose from! However from the first time we contacted Catherine we knew she was the photographer for us. She was professional and friendly throughout. We chose to have an engagement shoot and Catherine was excellent at making us feel relaxed in front of the camera. On our wedding day Catherine was brilliant – it was only when we saw the finished photos that we knew she was there for some parts of the day! Her natural style of photography was perfect for us.

The photographs of our day were fantastic and captured the day perfectly. Photographs are one of the few things from a wedding that will last a lifetime and thanks to Catherine we have some incredible photos to remember our wedding day. Every image is superb and we’ll have trouble narrowing them down to our favourites for an album.
