My mum always get the same carers who know and understand what she need. I can contact the office at any time and they will sort out anything that I or my mum need. The manager always gets back to me when I leave a message. They have given me have access to the care portal so I can check what the carers have done and tell them what they need to do. This really is an outstanding agency More...

Q&As

I love developing my carers to make sure that they can be both caring and professional. Care is a heavily regulated industry and meeting all of the requirement can turn people into robots. We agree that a carer should be well qualified and that vulnerable service users should be protected from harm. I love working with my carers to ensure they understand all of the regulation and why we have to monitor quality closely. However getting my carers to ensure that each service users is treated like an individual and teaching the carers to work with their service users in a natural way but still be able to capture and plan properly for the changing needs of the service user is my favourite part of the job.

I have seen a lot of care turn into a tick box exercise. I have worked for organisations who saw care as a tick box exercise. I have worked for agencies who's main purpose was to obtain good regulatory approval but have seen the provision of care as a tick box exercise. I felt that you can meet your regulatory requirements whilst still making the carer and the customer the centre of your service. I also did not want a service that was reliant on an army of compliance staff, taking away from the salaries of the carers. I felt that technology was developed enough to enable a service that can really focus on the carer and the service user whilst making sure that we can provide assurance to all interested parties (service users, regulators, family members).

I worked with some people who really understand technology and when the time was right, I took some of the best people that I worked with. Our simple aim was to ensure that we were providing the level of care that we would expect from our own loved ones but at the price that does not break the bank for our customer.

I am proud to say that
a. all of our carers get the London Living Wage
b. We have a less than 5% turnover rate for carers (important to develop them to our standards)
c. We have never had a client leave us for another agency in 2 years of operation

Our clients should choose us because we give you total control of your care through our online portal so that you can see
a. Arrival and departure time of your carers
b. The electronic mediation records (so that you can see when medication was administered)
c. view the notes from the carers about what activities they completed during their work time

In addition to this our director has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) as well as being a qualified assessor and internal verifier for vocational care qualifications. You can be assured that the development of quality carers is at the centre of our plans for providing a quality service

Whilst we utilise technology to ensure that we are providing the best service, our service is still face to face only.

Two important points within our quality plan was
a. The use of technology
b. Consistency of carers

By ensuring our carers are well remunerated we have been able to maintain consistency of carers for our service users. This means that the service users get the same carers all of the time. In addition to linking with government portals to maintain our volume of PPE and access to testing throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, being able to form bubbles with our service users and carers has been essential in maintaining safety.

In addition to this, our quality assurance was based on Electronic Monitoring. Our telephone and IT systems are cloud based (meaning that all of our care plans documentation are either completed on a tablet or scanned and uploaded to our services). In addition to all of this we work with the Quality Compliance System and Peninsula Business Advisory Service. This has given us access to the latest and most up to date interpretations of guidance and advice on implementing safe system.

The Safety of Covid-19 arrangements have been inspected by CQC. The inspection report confirmed that we had all the required measures to provide a safe service.
