My wife and I had a great stay here for just one night. The property is wonderful and the owner has obviously put in a great deal of work to restore it to its current condition but without losing its charm. It seems quite secluded and the rooms were very clean. The bathtubs are awesome, and the bed was very comfortable. The bar and lounge area was relaxing and the staff is incredible! Ian welcomed us in and chatted with us throughout the evening...hilarious guy and great company. The dinner (I had the duck) was delicious and breakfast was great (great breakfast staff, as well...can't remember the woman's name who served it and helped check us out but very wonderful to talk with and provided some great tips). If I had to give an area of improvement, it might be just a better way to get in touch with someone in the main reception area when checking in or looking for something (drink, hairdryer, etc) as the staff is usually multi-tasking and not always in the immediate vicinity downstairs. We were told to holler if we needed anything, so maybe our fault, but didn't want to shout out for help while the staff was busy doing something else. Anyways, it was a charming visit and we'd highly recommend a quiet stay here to get away from it all! More...
