Brambletye hotel

Two of us for a one night stay. Comfortable clean warm room with adequate bath & shower en suite. Breakfast, unusually these days, was cooked to order which took a little longer than the ubiquitous buffet, but it was well done and very good. There was a scant continental breakfast available as a buffet.||The staff were all pleasant and helpful and we'd be more than happy to stay again.||As with most mid range English hotels, the rooms could do with a rethink. Having to keep both bedroom and bathroom windows ajar to control the heating and ventilation is 'odd' - even more so as the wash basin is 'water saving' small and obstructed by an oversize mixer tap.||||Very minor - it's a good place to stay and we liked it! Stayed in the hotel while working nearby staff excellent and friendly and polite hotel was lovely food was excellent got food well done chefs all bar staff was very polite and always chatty to us and made u feel welcome breakfast lovely to and well done to the breakfast ladies who were always smiling over all injoyed staying will definitely go back I recommend this hotel fumbs up well done

Travelling from Belgium to Swindon, This was a sort of half way house after a visit to Hever Castle and gardens. (Well worth a visit. ) Checked in by a young lady with a beaming smile. Room was comfortable and quiet. Bed good and we had a restful nights sleep. We ate in, my partner's steak was good, but my pie was a tad dry. Tasty, however. Breakfast in the morning was part buffet and part á la carte, all very good. All the staff we were in contact with were always cheerful and helpful. On check out, there was a slight discrepancy on the bill, wrong room items on the wrong bill, but this was rectified quickly and cheerfully. After arrival, we had a drink on the patio,(in a glass, of course) and the prices were, shall we say, a tad on the high side. Ten pounds + for a pint and a glass of white wine! More...

We were on our way down to Eastbourne and had a rest stop for a drink and something to eat. We ordered our drinks at the bar and took them outside. We then had a look at the menu and ordered fish and chips, the food came out looked delicious a good portion size and hot. A very great meal sitting outside in the evening sun set us on our journey. I booked for my husband to stay solo but due to change of circumstances I joined him they were very accommodating about this. The room was very comfortable, light and airy. We ate at lunch on arrival and the portions were massive - very filling, didn't need to eat that evening. The Breakfast was cooked to order and perfect, nice selection of cereals if you wanted them. The evening food was again a large portion, my husband had grilled salmon he thoroughly enjoyed it I had 1/2 chicken & chips - wow I struggled. I would recommend this hotel for the food and especially the superb staff, a real credit to the hotel - best I have met so far in my travels. Will go back again. More...

Very nice hotel and restaurant. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Bedroom clean and comfortable only downside for me was the bathroom which although was very clean and well laid out with a brilliant shower :-) a bit tired and showing signs of wear and tear. Stayed with my wife for the weekend so we could attend a wedding. We definitely chose the best place to stay.||The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the rooms were clean and well maintained, the food in the restaurant was fantastic and when the wedding ended on Saturday night, we went back to the hotel and enjoyed a drink and a dance to a great band.||Thumbs up to this place!
