Me and my wife decided to stay at bowood hotel for her 30th birthday. We had booked the baby moon break as my other half was 7 and a half months pregnant at the time. Every element of the entire experience was no less than perfection!! The staff were fantastic, even when arranging flowers to be waiting in our room (which were beautiful) via email they were more than happy to go above and beyond to help me with what I was looking for. The treatments we received at the spa were great and all the therapists were extremely helpful. The dinner at the restaurant was also fantastic, reasonably priced and a lengthy wine list. The breakfast in the morning was good, with fresh local produce. We have already spoken about when we will be returning! Would highly recommend bowood hotel and spa to everyone. Have been treated to a Spa session as a birthday gift by my beautiful wife. Bowood is on our doorstep but it’s the first (but somehow I feel it won’t be the last) time we have been to the Spa. Excellent!

We’re here on the valentines deal, it is absolutely fantastic, they even upgraded us to a suite , we’ve just had a 5 course meal which was delicious, champagne and chocolates in our room, bunch of flowers with our dessert, I can’t say enough, I love it here, the staff are so friendly and can’t do enough, I’m just about to try the Olympic size bath.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. Despite the snowy weather that meant that they were short staffed we felt that were being welcomed into someone’s home and the service was excellent. The room was very comfortable and the facilities were very good, as was the food. The only thing I would change would be to make the hot shower in the spa a bit cooler! This golf course is a delight. Virtually every hole has something noteworthy about it. If you’re a big hitter you will need to shape your shots either with a draw or a fade as a large proportion of the holes are dog-legged. If you’re not a big hitter, fear not. Plot your way round hitting to ‘the corners’. I would single out holes 6 and 13. They’re long par fives ( over 500 yards which ever tee box use) but they are stunning holes that would grace any major golf course in the world. On a sunny autumnal afternoon....just magic. Had a spa day followed by a night in the hotel. We stayed in room 221 which had a balcony overlooking the golf course, the room was brilliant with all the comforts you need. Great long, challenging golf course. 7300+ yards of championship tees. Lots of cross bunkers, water, challenging greens. Yet, a beautiful natural scenery. Whilst during my visit the greens needed a bit more care, they clearly were top quality greens. Note: the course is a bit hilly at times, so definitely worth getting a trundler and/or buggy. Just spent a weekend at the hotel in suite 340. Absolutely stunning location. Great Spa and we had a lovely walk to the house and round the gardens. Our only disappointment was the meal in the restaurant on Saturday night. The food was excellent but the service was so below the standard we would expect. We asked for drinks and had to remind them 10 mins later. We waited an age between courses and allthough we don't like to be rushed two and a half hours for a three course meal was just to long. Had my sister's birthday party at Bowood Hotel and Golf Resort last night and the place and staff were amazing. The place is set in tranquil soroundings and the hotel is magnificent. Rebecca and her staff provided us with world class care service and made our family event a day to remember.
