This is where I tried poké for the first time. I've never had sushi before too so this was quite the experience for me. It was a revelation to know that when served fresh, fish isn't smelly. They give generous portions of rice and protein (sea food of your choice) and wide variety of toppings/condiments to add atop the base.Going there during the lunch hour will take up at least half hour of your time due to long queues but it's well worth the wait.My personal favourite here are the salmon, spicy tuna; they go well with the beans and wasabi cream. The Combo Cup for $10.95 is a great deal. Even better, you don't have to wait in the main line as this selection has its own line. Great flavor, fresh and filling.

tbh, can you really mess up on poke? REGARDLESS, I like Big Fish Little Fish and welcome it as a healthy option for lunch. The line moves quickly and you have different options as to how many proteins you want, whether you want greens (spring mix/kale) or rice (brown/steamed), etc.Protein selection is pretty standard - salmon, tuna, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, etc. I've never seen any crazy, obscure fish but they're pandering to the FiDi crowd, so no need. Their selection for vegetables/other items you can put in your bowl is definitely on the larger side compared to some other poke places I've ventured to in the city. Decent sauce selection too.Solid selection and one of the better lunch options in this area - will continue to stay a staple in my lunch rotation in FiDi. More...

Solid poke spot. Fish is pretty fresh and their various toppings are on point. Different sauces too. A Big Fish bowl (largest size) is $14~ with tax which I would say is hefty. Little Fish (smaller size) is $12 with tax. Recently the workers started putting less rice/salad mix into the bowl. No bueno! Also, the workers are not happy. You can clearly see it on their faces and one of them always seemed rude. I needed a to go bag and she didn't even bother opening it. Just expect decent or dissatisfying service. More...

I was looking for a poke restaurant nearby and found Big Fish.  After reading the reviews about the customer service, I took a deep breath and hoped for the best.  During the lunch rush at Century City mall, I expected the  line to be long but it wasn't. The menu was very easy to read, although an additional $2.50 for an extra scoop of protein is a little much. I was greeted with a smile from the first employee, and the smiles followed from all those who helped me. Maybe I went on a day when everyone was in a good mood, let's hope the customer service stays that way. As far as the food, the portions given to me we're average. The taste all together was typical poke bowl no complaints. More...

My favorite poke place! They are very generous with their portions and they have a nice variety of toppings.I usually get their yellowtail on a bed of brown rice with quinoa and edamame, corn, cucumber, masago, krab, seaweed, sunflower seeds, lotus root, and furikake. I usually get either the spicy mayo or house special sauce but today I saw they have a new mango sauce! Super solid poke place! Although full disclosure, I try to eat less fish/meat so I got crab and tofu as the two scoops of protein for my Big Fish bowl. (Big Fish is the larger size with 2 scoops of protein and Little Fish is the smaller size with 1 scoop). The crab is a little salty for my taste but really good when mixed with the unseasoned vegetable mixins. The kale base is sooo well seasoned, I would have that just by itself!Love the crunchy topping options they have (almonds, sunflower seeds, seaweed, crispy onion, macadamia nuts are some of the options). The macadamia nuts aren't usual imo in poke spots and is so good on poke! Got the signature and wasabi cream as my sauces - the wasabi sauce was pretty mild so might not go for that again. More...

I usually get the little fish with half kale and half brown rice. I tried their shrimp, octopus, and spicy tuna- all were fresh and tasty. In addition, I love how they are so generous with all the veggies and topping add-ons. They definitely don't skimp out here.I usually get the sweet onion and ponzu sauce and call it a day, but I did hear from my coworkers that they like to add alot of sauce so be careful of that. Quick place to get a nice bite.I was at Yelp HQ for work and wanted to get poke for lunch. I Yelped poke places that were around 6 blocks that had over a 4 star rating and was open for lunch. Being in SF I honestly thought I'd have a couple selections, but this was it! It is a little hidden, it isn't right off of Spear, but in a plaza. That being said, as long as you know the address, it isn't hard to find. The line seemed a little long, but since it is like Chipotle, where you order down the line, it went pretty quick. I went with a big bowl and started piling on everything. I got a kale/brown rice base, added salmon, spicy salmon, tuna, and added an extra protein of octopus (which is a cool option), went crazy on the toppings with edamame, masago, avocado (an extra charge), pineapple, seaweed salad, krab salad, cilantro, furikake, and fried onion. I asked which sauce was the most popular, it was the ponzu sauce. My total was a little under $19, but it's because I added an extra protein and avocado. You can totally build an awesome bowl without any of those extras.Since there is a long line, you really don't have time to stop and ask to taste the sauces. I found my bowl to be a little spicier than I normally like, I think it was because of the spicy salmon. Overall, the fish was big and fresh, and I felt healthy and satisfied after eating it. Do I think this is the best place ever? No, but it is definitely a solid choice for a fast, healthy, meal.Overall, I would definitely recommend it, but I want to try all the other highly rated options in SF before coming back. It's a great place to get lunch, but not the type of place to seek out if you are from out of town. More...

I was heading over to my go-to safe choice of Panda Express when my wife convinced me to try something new. So, I reluctantly chose to try out this place, BFLF. I am so glad I did!!!  First of all, I'm terrible at making choices and putting food together at places like this. But, the easy steps posted on the wall was a big help. A bigger help was Sabrina. She was so nice and took her time to give me descriptions of everything I asked about. I asked her what she would suggest and with her help we put together an amazing bowl. She even gave me a sample of the crispy onion and garlic so I could decide which would be better in my bowl. She had me mixing sauces and crunch, etc. I couldn't have come up with a masterpiece of a bowl like this myself. My wife went with the standard pre-set bowl and wished she would've made a bowl like mine. I decided to take a gamble and joined in the line around 12. Luckily line was pretty speedy and I was done in ~10 minutes. I opted for the little fish bowl with spicy ahi tuna and regular salmon, almost all the veggie toppings, crab, and ponzu sauce. Fish tasted fresh. I also saw octopus and different flavored salmon/tuna which was a unique choice. I lean towards white rice for poke bowls but also saw they had brown rice and salad for a more healthy option. The fish was fresh and with the right sauces and condiments, you really feel like you're sitting on a beach in Hawaii rather than a crowded mall with screaming kids running around. They deliver via Postmates, Grubhub, Doordash and Ubereats too so if you don't feel like fighting the parking of the mall here, you can get fresh poke delivered to you. The price is fair when you consider the price of fish. I recommend Jalapenos as a topping if you want to add a little kick to your poke bowl. The large bowl is more than enough for an average size man as you get a lot of vegetables and fish for the large order. Not much of a line when I came which is always nice so I was in and out really quick. I felt compelled the write this review because 2.5 stars for Big Fish Little Fish is an affront to poke-lovers everywhere. I eat my fair share of poke and BFLF is definitely in the upper echelon of restaurants in this sphere, although it is not the absolute best. First, the pricing is solid. I get a large bowl with an extra scoop of protein and it still comes out to less than $18. Second, the fish itself is good quality and they definitely load up the scooper by pressing the fish into the scooper via the side of the container instead of just going at the pile of fish and letting the chips fall where they may. This is an important distinction in the world of order-at-the-counter poke and makes your dollar go further. Third, the only toppings deemed "premium" are avocado and mango. This means that imitation crab and seaweed salad are standard and this is huge because not only is BFLF ahead of its competition here, but their imitation crab and seaweed salad taste great. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised at quickly they get through the line even at the height of the lunch rush at Westfield Century City. If you're a poke fan and looking for a solid lunch spot, look no further! More...
