Cilla looked after my Mum and step Dad for 3 to 4 years on rotation with other carers, but she was the main one and a favorite of them both, she provided outstanding care and great communication at all times , dealing with the ups and downs that later life dementia brings.
I will always be grateful to her for the care she provided to them both and that they were able to stay in their family home until the end .

Cilla cared for our elderly father, with dementia, at home over a period of 3 years. The care given to him was exemplary, responsive to his needs and preferences. Despite his dementia Cilla could make him laugh and joke and be the father he was before dementia. Cilla cared for his every need. The house was always spotless, she bathed him daily, shaved him, attended to his dry skin and kept him mobile to the very end. I would highly recommend Cilla to everyone in need of home care. Our father's final years were made comfortable but fulfilled as he drifted into the twilight that is dementia. Cilla is a dedicated professional but full of compassion and a happy personality. Priscilla Muchemwa worked for our family as a live-in Carer assisting my Sister who has severe learning difficulties.
Priscilla coped well with all aspects including care, personal arrangements, financial and domestic duties. She became a friend my Sister could rely on and look to for guidance.
Priscilla is a kind, patient, reliable, hardworking and trustworthy person. We were very lucky to have her come into our lives to help and assist us, we will never be able to thank her enough for developing my Sister's social skills as much as possible.
Sadly after a period of 4 to 5 years for reasons of family employment Priscilla returned to Yorkshire (Approximately 2011). We have always remained in close contact with Priscilla and know she has continued to care for many other people since her time with Andrea. During the course of her work Priscilla has cared for a number of ladies in the same establishment including one that suffered from diabetes. This included adminstering her medication which she managed well.

Looking after people and giving a service to their families.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Me and my business partner have worked a total of 34 years in the social care industry. We have worked in all sectors of this industry viz. Care homes, NHS mental health units, learning lisability units/ homes, live-in care in peoples homes. We have looked after people with varied health conditions and are confident that we can do a great service running our own business. Our experience covers people who suffer conditions like: stroke, diabetes, dementia, heart failure, MS, bipolar, schizophrenia, profound physical disabilities, athritis, eating disorders, and many others. In the past three years we have been working for an agency as self employed carers. We have done very well managing our own taxes and keeping up with all the mandatory training as required by Social Care legislation. The reviews that I have are the ones my services users have sent to my agency over the years.

Looking after a person is obviously a service that I need to perform in person. A care job involves, giving our clients personal attention e.g. help with bathing, getting dressed meal preparation, help getting in and out of bed and help keeping their house and clothes clean.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Keep up to date with vaccinations, adhere to current Govt recommendations and updates pertaining to Corona virus and keeping a strict hygiene regime both at work and at home.

At Best Years Care Ltd we are an Introductory Agency thats sources experienced professional live-in carers for people who need of full time care in their own homes. We we vet them and ensure that their DBS is up to date and they have athe right to work in the UK. We ascertain that the workers possess the experience relevant to the clients needs and that they are up-to-date with the Social Care Training mandated by UK legislation on social care.
We then assess the needs of the client and agree with the family on a Care Plan and agree with the family on our fees/charges.
Thereafter we introduce the professional carer to the family and if the family is happy with the carer we place the carer for a minimum of 1 week at a time or longer depending upon the client/carer choices. Best Years Care ensures the supply of carers to cover whenever one takes a break.
