After my son unwittingly exposed my house to bed bugs via visits I was in panic after getting several bites. Long story short. Without the prompt communication via email and phone and valuable expertise and advice I’m not sure what I would have done. I have since purchased 5 passive monitors for peace of mind. Oh and the bites were fleas! Although I don’t live in London i would definitely use Bed Bugs limited to resolve any bug issue. My son is in the process of a third chemical treatment that was done only yesterday. If this third time lucky treatment doesn’t work we will be in touch. Only wished We had stumbled across Bed Bugs limited earlier before he had forked out for chemical treatments. What a great team! This outfit saved our backsides when we had a major infestation. After a good deal of research we chose them for various reasons: they're bedbug specialists rather than general pest contollers, very little preparation needed on our part - no throwing out furniture, and no toxic chemicals involved - especially with a cat in the flat. I liked the top man, David Cain, being a scientist and a world authority on bedbugs. This is no "blast 'em and hope for the best" affair; the strategy has been worked out carefully, and tweaked over time, in response to experiences with clients. On the first visit we were given an educational pack, full of information about bedbugs - very valuable when dealing with such wily creatures, and very helpful in giving a sense of control when you are feeling overwhelmed. The level of personal support was much appreciated. I got conned from another pest control company making me believe I had bedbugs then bird mites but the only thing biting me at night were the dust mites and the allergic reaction. The support that Bedbugs Ltd provided has been invaluable. The initial visit that lasted about 1.5 hours was very thorough and Sarah the technician was able to locate some faeces in one room and also an adult bed bug in another room. Sarah explained the GOOD techniques that have been developed by David and the team at Bed Bugs Limited to eliminate any infestation in properties. Since I had wrapped and thrown away my initial mattress in the room where I was being bitten Sarah had explained that I need to purchase a new mattress since part of the treatment and monitor process requires that there is a host present to check presence of further bed bugs. Following purchase of that mattress Sarah was able to visit our home again to carry-out the steam-clean and install passive monitors in each of the bedrooms which took around 2.5 hours. Just spoken to Terry at Bed Bugs Limited. Got to him via a Forum about bed bugs called BedBugger. This was after I had just spoken to two other companies who wanted to charge me enormous amounts of money and come out and treat my property without establishing if I do actually have bed bugs. Terry's advice was thoughtful, comprehensive and considered. We have now formulated a detection plan to establish what I might have in the property, and then we will discuss next steps in how to treat. Thank you so much for your time which has been totally FOC and taking the time to talk me though things. I've bought the passive detection monitor as a first step as there are no visual signs of bed bugs but someone on the home is getting bitten, or as Terry explained, maybe not bitten, maybe what presents as a bite is actually an allergic reaction to something else. What do you love most about your job?
Bed bugs are a complex pest and thus provide a very stimulating challenge. No two cases are ever identical and our work is part pest control part detective work to make sure we resolve the problem and keep it away.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The lack of information and knowledge available on the subject inspired me to become the first dedicated exterminator of bed bugs in the world, a job that had not been done since the 1930's .
