The high standard of professionalism of the company B.I.T and all their tradesman throughout have left me and my family very pleased with the end result.
Especially during the current times of Covid they have been very respectful and accommodating. All the guys on site worked extremely hard and finished our loft in 3 weeks which was amazing. They went out of their way to be available to communicate any concerns and always updated us with the progress of the build. Extra work wasn't a problem and they were very considerate of our neighbours.
The process went smoothly from start to finish and B.I.T have provided us with a lovely loft conversion containing a large additional bedroom with en-suite.

Loft Conversions
Adrian, Ciaran & the B.I.T. guys completed a loft conversion for us recently (July ‘21). We were delighted with the work that was carried out.
Finished to a high standard and the whole team were professional, very efficient and a pleasure to have around the house for the build period.
Everything was on or ahead of time with them and the guys were here daily for just under the 3 weeks they had estimated. We’d a delay with receiving one of the windows due to circumstances outside of their control but as soon as the supplier received and fitted it, the team returned immediately to complete the final touches on the job.
Would happily recommend for any roof space conversions / building work in general.

Loft Conversions
Adrian and Ciaran have recently completed a full loft conversion for our family. The work included a hip roof to gable end conversion, construction of a dormer and staircase. We now have a beautiful third floor bedroom with walk in wardrobe and ensuite. They also replaced our existing bathroom. We could not be more pleased with their work. The finish is excellent. Adrian worked in my home in 2019 when he created an "outdor living area" in my back garden by constructing a decking area, building a 6ft fence and making bespoke wooden garden furniture. The "outdoor living area" has become the main focal point of my back garden which included space for barbecuing. (It was an excellent area to escape to during the first lockdown in 2020). Due to the quality of his work, professionalism and the robust timescale he worked to, Adrian has since completed a further 2 projects in my home where the attention to detail in his work was 1st class. The first project was making hand built wardrobes for 2 of my bedrooms which Adrian got designed for me. The built in wardrobes now utilise space which was previously wasted. The second project Adrian did was to "rip out" & replace all internal doors, arcitives and skirting boards which was replaced with solid oak. To complete the project Adrian put new wooden flooring in all the bedrooms and a solid oak herringbone floor in the main living room. He is currently working on a plan to convert some space in my garage to create " a work from home area". I would recommend Adrian 100% to undertake any building or joinery projects in your home. How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Most garages are suitable for conversion. The main thing is cost. Depending on the amount of structural work needed ie digging up floors or replacing entire roof. It's about the value for money.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
First stage drawing. Need architectural design sometimes structural drawings also. Once approved the project would normally take 3 to 4 weeks to complete. I would tackle the structural work first floors walls then roof. Then approach the second fix. At all stages keep clients informed of the process. Can't go wrong when everyone is informed.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Height in centre of the roof must be at least 2.250m.The regulations state you must have 2000mm head height when you step of your stairs. New joists are put in as well as new insulation which will rise the floor as well as lowering the ceiling height.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
First thing first I would call to house to measure up and let the client know if its possible to have the loft converted. I would give them their different options ie if dormer is required or if they want a bathroom and bedroom. I would give them ball park quotes for all options available for them. If they want to go further then I would get them an architect and structural engineer. These are required for building control. In some cases planning ie also required but not all. Once drawings are complete and design is agreed I would then give exact price for work. It takes my company around 3 to 4 weeks to convert a loft with building control approval. At no point does the client ever have to move out of their property while work is being carried out. I don't believe in extras the price I give will never change unless client wants something extra like more sockets or lights. Lofts are expensive so throughout the process the client is kept involved in the process. I like the client to be there at least once to meet with building control so they can ask if everything is being done to building control requirement. We cover every aspect of the project from start to finish no need for client to source any tradesmen we take care of everything.
How long have you been in business?
I have been working for myself for around 15 years. I have been a joiner for 23 years.My main trade was building bars and restaurants then around 10 years ago I started to get a lot more private work. Now 90% of my work would be lofts or extensions.
What guarantee does your work come with?
I'm fully insured and I stand over any job that I have done. I am available to any client for any after care. Although I will say that has never been required.
What do you love most about your job?
Taking on new projects and seeing them come to life.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Family and belief in my own ability. I'm only as good as the people who taught me and I was taught by the best.
