Mr Silby prepared the necessary plan drawings for our house extension and looked after planning permissions and arranging building control. Although he did not advise us to engage any particular builder he was able to give advice and help with obtaining tenders, preparing costings and giving valuable advice on the legal side of dealing with all the various parties in work of this kind including follow up. His informal approach made it easy to ask questions freely and we are grateful for his advice and help. We were pleased enough with his services to ask him to prepare further drawings for another extension at a relatives address. AS Architectral Services are a relatively 'young' business and I would describe the business main strength as the knowledge of procedures and the detail within the plan drawings which I think are very professional. How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
The legal requirement for Loft Conversion heights from floor level is 2.2m. You also need 1.9m from the centre of the top stair to the roof slope for head height access.

My passion is Architecture at all levels. We also like to provide quality and assurance for the best value and make sure clients are not spending money they do not need to spend.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business as I realised I could provide a professional business to private Clients. I have more than ten years training in the architectural sector which enables me to provide various levels of service in both the residential and commercial sector. I have always wanted my own practice and believe that through good design we can aid people to enjoy their environment and experience it with happiness.

We provide different levels of service to Client(s) in both the Residential and Commercial Sectors, the services we provide all cover and range across all types of development.
Planning Applications
We can provide both consultations and applications for construction projects that require planning permission with various local authorities. These applications may be anything from small outbuildings to sky scrapers. We specialize in Residential and Commercial projects.
Building Regulation Applications and Drawings
We work along side with various Building Control Authorities. We provide Building Regulation Applications and drawings to the local authorities. All our Building Regulation work is guaranteed.
CAD Drawing in both 2D and 3D
Here at AS Architectural Services we use and provide both 2D and 3D drawings and models to meet client requirements. Our plans and models are professionally produced using CAD Software packages to enable us to present in different formats for both the residential and commercial sector. CAD, or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), is technology for design and technical documentation, which replaces manual drafting with an automated process. This process enables us to produce drawings and models much faster than older methods.
2D CAD has many applications, but it is commonly used to design vector-based layouts. we use CAD software to create overhead views of building floor plans and outdoor landscapes. These layouts, which contain vector graphics, can be scaled to different sizes, which may be used for proposals or blueprints. 2D CAD also includes drawings, such as sketches, which are common at the beginning of the design process.
3D CAD is commonly used in developing video games and animated films. It also has several real-world applications, such as product design, civil engineering, and simulation modeling. 3D CAD includes computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), which involves the actual manufacturing of three-dimensional objects. We use this software to create realistic 3D Models of buildings.
Surveying
At AS Architectural Services we provide surveying services to enable building plans and land surveys to be created. Building plan surveys give us the information to create professional building plans for planning applications and building regulation applications.
AS Architectural Services use land surveys for various types of project both residential an commercial to enable us to provide plans and land layouts for planning applications, building regulation applications, land registry and lease plans.
Feasibility Studies
An assessment of the practicality of a proposed plan or method of a building project.
We use various costing techniques to prepare building project cost plans to create feasibility studies. The feasibility study can be used to decide whether a project is viable and also be used alongside your project plans as a guide to costs for a project

We can provide a professional building design service for all types of client in both the residential and commercial sector. This service is for clients that would like a building designed or professional drawings to be prepared for presentation or design and build projects.
