Really happy with all the hard work, diligence and good time-keeping that Amicus staff put into their job role. Always friendly, We feel that David’s father is well taken care of and is in safe hands.

My mother has been having carers for over a year and until Amicus Homecare came on board, I did not realise how different and unique they are as a care agency.
I don't live close by and Rachel has gone out of her way and gone above and beyond with everything involving my mother. She has been a source of help, support, and guidance for me especially, but she is not on her own. She has an amazing team of carers who work with her. I have had 12 months of care with other care agencies and I have seen how little they do, when Amicus carers came in, I see them taking the time to talk to my mother, to help her with her exercises making an effort to engage her in positive purposeful conversation. They never rush her and give her 100% of their attention.
My mother fell, I was 200 miles away, I rang Rachel and with no hesitation she dropped everything and went straight over there.
Amicus always put my mother first, the manager and her team always put clients first, and this gives me peace of mind.
Well done to Rachel and your amazing team “your awesome”
Amicus gives me confidence knowing Mother is in safe caring hands giving me peace of mind. Thank you guys you are amazing.

Amicus are simply the best agency we have dealt with in the 15 years we’ve been needing care and support for relatives.

The first thing is that they really CARE. We have met most of the staff over the years and they are all exemplary, polite, capable, kind, calm and most importantly personable and friendly whilst still maintaining dignity and propriety with my father.

My dads care needs vary and Amicus are flexible, 100% reliable and so knowledgeable and genuine. Visits never feel rushed, everyone takes time to be kind to my mother as well, even though she is not the client and they are all absolutely charming to anyone else who happens to be around (including various dogs!)

The management are amazing. Unlike the 6 other agencies I have dealt with over the years I have never heard even the smallest grumble from any of the staff. They feel well supported and appreciated so they work hard and are exceptionally cheerful as a result.

Dad has made what feel to him to be really positive relationships with everyone who has come from Amicus. Rachel Harrison specifically continues to be an absolute superstar. Having worked in care myself many years ago I know only too well that while most carers are great at their jobs, some people are just born with an innate gift for connecting with and caring for vulnerable people. Rachel is one of those.

We would not be able to keep my father living at home safely without the support of Amicus. I would trust them with my life. My father is my world and I trust them with his safety and happiness completely.

Q&As

What we cherish most about our work at Amicus Homecare is the genuine difference we make in people's lives every day. It's incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact of our services, from the smiles of our clients to the relief and gratitude of their families. Every day, we're reminded of the importance of compassion, dignity, and the human connection. Our job goes beyond just providing care; it's about building relationships, understanding individual stories, and being a source of support and comfort. The trust that our clients place in us is both humbling and motivating, and it drives us to continuously strive for excellence in everything we do.

Our inspiration to start Amicus Homecare stemmed from a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals who require care. When we started our service we had our own parents in mind and to this day we are family run. We’re not a franchise. We recognised the growing need for high-quality, personalised homecare services that enable individuals to maintain their independence and dignity while staying in the comfort of their own homes. Our commitment is to provide care that we would want for our own loved ones.

People should choose Amicus Homecare because we prioritise their well-being and individual needs. Our services are tailored to each person, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care possible. We have a dedicated team of professionals who undergo specialised training in care and support and are passionate about delivering compassionate care. Furthermore, our reputation and testimonials from satisfied clients and their families speak volumes about our commitment to excellence.

While the core of our services is in-person care, we understand the importance of staying connected in today's digital age. We can offer remote assessments, and regular check-ins via phone or video calls. Families can monitor the care we provide via our online portal enabling them to monitor when care takes place and what was done. This ensures that families and loved ones are kept in the loop and can participate in the care process even if they are not physically present.

The safety of people who use our service and our staff is our top priority. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have implemented stringent safety protocols. This includes regular health screenings for our staff, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during visits, and enhanced cleaning and sanitisation procedures. We also provide ongoing training to our team on the latest guidelines and best practices to prevent the spread of the virus. Additionally, we stay updated with guidance from health authorities and adjust our protocols as necessary.
