Q&As

I love it when my clients come in stressed and walk out relaxed and tell me that they are walking on air.

I have been interested in holistic therapies for a long time and then about ten years I was treated to a reflexology session. Also as a child my parents would give me a foot massage as a way of bonding. So I started reading about how the various techniques affect the body.
I also used to massage the shoulders and backs of friends, and they all said how good I am and that maybe I should look in to doing it full time. Over the years I taken up several lines of study and I am now qualified in reflexology, Swedish massage and Indian head massage. I will be expanding my repertoire as am currently studying aromatherapy, and will commencing a course in sports massage in September 2014.

Other than the main services offered I can also carry out postural assessments which can aide the treatments offered. I treat all my clients with the upmost respect all there details are securely locked away and are only used for the purpose of their treatment plan. I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapist, for which I have to follow strict code of conduct. I am more than Covid ready.

I have taken courses offered by the Federation of Holistic Therapists to ensure I am compliant: I clean down all surfaces with disinfectant between each client. Towels are changed between each client and they are transported before and after washing in vacuum-sealed bags. I wear a mask and also a visor, gloves if needed. I also have a thermometer to take my client's temperature on arrival when required. I also carry out full phone consultation which includes questions regarding Covid symptoms, and I ask if they have visited any countries included on the red list in the past 10 days, and are they aware if they have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of Covid.

Reflexology is based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet and hands
which correspond to areas within the body. At menopause reflexology works by regulating the hormones and glandular functions of the body. It can help to alleviate and balance both the physical and emotional systems. By working with the hypothalamus and pituitary, reflexology can help to restore balance to the endocrine system. This in turn can alleviate menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes as well as anxiety by calming the central nervous system, sleep disturbances can also be alleviated, and anxiety and stress levels reduced. By regulating calcium and phosphorous levels in the thyroid gland, bone loss can be prevented. Reflexology also helps the ovaries to regulate their estrogen secretions and the uterus to maintain their natural health and flexibility

Indian Head Massage is an ancient complementary therapy, based on the ayurvedic system of healing. This form of massage focuses on your head, face, neck, arms, shoulders, and upper back and was originally used to improve scalp and hair condition. It is a deep massage, using a variety of pressure and techniques, including circular massage strokes on your scalp, deep tissue work on your shoulders, and stretching the neck, with gentler strokes to the face.
