Great Christmas night... The food was lovely, plenty spaces between the tables so you don't feel packed in... The staff are great and the band are really good!!!

As usual friendly and helpful staff making our stay ideal. Did notice that the outside area of hotel was needing a bit of attention, poor lighting and litter around the entrance. Also noted that the mattress was a bit worn and creaked, not that it stopped us from sleeping well. Will definitely continue to use the Alona when visiting our family in the area. More...

Just been for an afternoon tea/ baby shower and Alona was fantastic!! Great selection of food including hot plate, sandwiches, scones with cream and jam and delicious cakes. A glass of prosecco and as many refills of tea and coffee to top this off and all for £13.95 !A special mention for the staff, efficient and unobtrusive. Had a lovely meal with friends tonight and must say it was excellent the rib eye and fillet steak were cooked to perfection all the food was top notch and reasonably priced also great service from Ian nothing was to much trouble for him he was very friendly and had lovely manner about him making our night a pleasant affair would definitely return

Visited with a friend on Sunday evening for coffee and a scone.Service was very slow,despite restaurant not being busy and plenty of staff present. Received a voucher for afternoon tea as a gift for my birthday.thank you to Elma for dealing with our reservation and to Ian for being our waiter the service was wonderful could not fault a single thing from booking it to enjoying our afternoon. the food was wonderful honestly one the best afternoon teas I have had (and I have had a few lol ) all the cakes homemade.we loved the haggis balls and sausage rolls .sandwiches very fresh and tasty fillings .as much tea and coffee as we wanted .loved that the Prosecco was in bottles as one of us was driving so we could take a bottle home with us and enjoy later .we definitely will recommend to family and friends and will be coming back again ourselves.
