I recently had an internal wall treated for rising damp by Advanced Damp. The treatment took 2 days to complete and Sam did a great job. He arrived on both days when he said he would and although I knew it was going to be a messy job, he kept the mess to a minimum, and cleared up really well when he finished the job. Nothing but good things to say about this company. I started with a damp survey because I wasn't sure what kind of damp I had. I ended up having rising damp, as well as penetrating damp. I was able to meet the surveyor, so he walked me through everything and explained the treatments for each, which was great! I decided to move forward which the quote and they discounted the price of the survey, so I was really glad I started with the survey since it became free. The job took a few days, but the contractor Keith was very friendly, so I didn't mind having him in my house. He was respectful and cleaned up after the work was completed. Looks as good as new!!!! Excellent service from Jake! After a couple months of noticing brown marks on my walls (mainly above skirting boards) and lots of different people not knowing exactly what the root of the problem was, i decided to call Advanced Damp and get this looked into further! Jake attended my property and did a thorough survey and inspection to find out very quickly, that my problems were in fact rising damp. He was extremely professional, knowledgable and a lovely guy who was very polite and helpful and I now finally have an answer to what the cause is. He also provided me with clear steps moving forwards of how this can be resolved by them (360 approach) and I now feel I am in great hands to get this resolved in the most effective way possible. Looks like I’ve been unlucky with the service compared with most. Firstly I was doubled booked in, then I had two surveyors turn up at the same time who clearly were put out by this and caused an uncomfortable situation. The surveyor I had was condescending and quite intimidating and made me feel silly for asking questions (I don’t know about damp and buildings, that’s why I have paid for a survey!). It’s been 2 weeks and we have still not received the survey, despite chasing. Won’t be moving forward with them following the survey I’m afraid (if I ever receive it!). More...

They could not confirm the cause of the mould They also advised that I needed a roof vent. When I later emailed them because I was confused about their recommendation as I already have a roof vent asking them for clarification they did not get back to me.
