What’s your interior design process?
Interior Design like any other art form follows a process: one in which planning, researching, coordinating, and managing projects occurs.
Initially a Free 15-minute discovery discussion of your project where you are offered the best service for your situation. A Welcome pack is then emailed which serves to outline expectations regarding payment terms and to explain in a little more depth what you will receive at each stage of your project.
The Design, Create, and Transform process is started.

Which interior design styles can you cater for?
Chantal Thomas Design caters to all styles, after all this is your space and you are the one living in it. My aim is to create a welcoming space that functions well for you; a space that combines design and well-being; a space that is practical and liveable and one that you love coming home to.
What do you love most about your job?
I just love being able to work with people who want to make the most of their spaces. The best thing for me is seeing my clients' faces when their vision for their space becomes a reality and the joy and happiness on their faces is just so special. I feel so privileged to be able to make a difference in their lives. Working with an Interior Designer is a very personal choice as our homes are so personal to us. Wellbeing and out spaces are closely intertwined, so I like to consider myself as a Designer who through designing and transforming spaces contributes to the well-being of those who live in those spaces. This brings me great joy.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always loved being around beautiful things and organising my spaces so that they are aesthetically pleasing and work for me. I just love design. Show me a room, and I’m hooked, I listen and come up with ideas that sometimes solve problems or they’re just ideas to run with. I love meeting new people and their spaces. I’ve a wealth of experience from working in an upmarket furniture showroom in South Africa to a ribbon and trimmings store in London, both as managers. I learned a lot about spatial awareness and thinking outside the box. This experience inspired me to undertake training as a House Doctor consultant and later a Foundation Degree and BA(Hons) in Interior Design. I have been in the design world for almost 2 decades now, I like being my own boss, so here we have- Chantal Thomas Design. I’ve traded under a few names, but this one is here to stay.

The process I use is aimed at giving you clarity about what you’d like to achieve which results in saving you time, money, and stress. I work alongside you for as much or as little time as you'd like. I help you realise your vision for your space and ensure that it is suited to your lifestyle and your own personal style. The flow of a space, what it feels like, how it functions, and well-being is at the heart of every design project I embark upon.

At present, I'm providing services both remotely, predominately via Zoom and email, and in person. We discuss your project, plan out the steps, and work together to create your scheme to transform your space..
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Providing remote services. If a site visit is required, Hand sanitiser is used .
Colour consultation
This is a personalised bespoke service aimed a creating a colour scheme of your choice for a particular room in your home. During the consultation, you’ll be able to discuss your colour requirements with Chantal, including colours and patterns you might like to use in a space. You’re welcome to share pictures and images of your space as well as any plans, ideas, or items you’re considering purchasing. Chantal will be happy to talk through anything related to the colour scheme of that space.

Full Interior Design service
This service as the name implies combines the Interior design of a space with project management. This is an on-site-only service for a whole home or part thereof. This is a VIP service designed to minimise overwhelm and decision fatigue by managing the day-to-day running of your project.
What is included?

Site visit and measure up
Support throughout the whole project - from start to finish via email, online & in-person
Access to a client portal for your project
Colour schemes, furniture ideas, lighting, flooring, tiles, window treatments…
2D Furniture layout (up to 2 revisions per room)
3D Visuals and detailed presentations (up to 2 revisions per room)
Visual mood boards Mood boards for the room, showing colours, fabrics, wallpaper, furniture
Sample box containing relevant samples and swatches
Arrange for quotes from trades and suppliers and run the project for you
Liaise with builders, craftsmen, curtain makers, upholsterers etc
budget breakdowns
Access to preferential pricing from trade-only suppliers
Styling your space with the finishing touches and advice on where to place lamps, hang artwork and mirrors

Interior Design Consultation
The design consultation package can be a standalone service to help you get unstuck or re-inspired, or it can be a part of other services as the starting point to a full design service. Chantal will work with you to make some of those numerous design decisions and will definitely throw in a few options that you may not have thought of.
What you can expect
Chantal will chat with you about your plans and discuss the pre-consultation questionnaire. This will include looking at a selection of paint charts, fabric and wallpaper books, and you’ll be offered guidance on the following: Colour schemes, Space planning & room layout , Window treatments, Lighting, Furniture styles,
Art, accessories & finishing touches including ideas to bring the room together
Your consultation includes
A pre-consultation questionnaire, with a private Pinterest board where you can ‘Pin’ your ideas
An in-person (or virtual) meeting at your home (please allow up to an hour)
In-person/site meeting will include measuring up the space In-person
A follow-up written consultation summary, including a suggested colour scheme and concept board.

Design Power Hour
The Design Power Hour is an affordable one-hour in-depth laser-focused advice session that you spend with Chantal either in person or online.
You will have one full hour with Chantal to talk through your design dilemmas and ask for her advice and input. You’re welcome to share pictures and images of your space as well as any plans, ideas, or items you’re considering purchasing. Chantal will be happy to talk through anything related to the design of that space.

Space Planning

E-Design
E-design is Online or Remote Interior Design, which simply put offers affordable design fees and reduced timescales for you, the client. It is essentially a much closer collaboration between the designer and client as both parties contribute to the design scheme which ensures the typical design timeline for project completion is quicker. All communication is via phone, Zoom or email.

DIY Room Design
This is a DIY service that follows on after a Design Consultation. Once we’ve planned your scheme and you’re happy to source, order items, and project manage any work yourself at your own pace, then this is for you. This is a collaboration with you to create schemes for your home or rooms. This is for you if you're happy to coordinate trades, order furniture and curtains, etc. yourself.
DIY Room Design includes
A pre-consultation questionnaire, with a private Pinterest board where you can ‘Pin’ your ideas

Commercial Interior Design
An in-depth discussion about your business, your vision, branding and ethos. Time is taken to gain a full understanding of you, your staff, and your clients as the the interior design needs to reflect that. Once the brief has been finalised, the design process commences.
What to expect
Close collaboration with you at all stages of the project. You are encouraged to be as involved as much as you wish, so as to ensure the best result for your business.
From concept to completion:
An Initial consultation where the project requirements and expectations including timescales are discussed.
A design brief is formulated
A quote for approval
A delivery schedule is agreed upon
A digital or physical concept board for review comprising of 2D plans or elevations, 3D visuals (if required)
An opportunity for feedback to ensure the design meets expectations.
The development of the design and delivery:
Schedules required for the roll-out of the project.
Layout changes, lighting, detailed drawings of any furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E),sample boards are produced and discussed including pricing.
Project management
Access to a Client Portal
Liaising with suppliers arranging delivery,
Assisting with advising contractors
Overseeing the project.
