Picked up ‘TuRK’, my 1958 Triumph TR3A, from AL Coachworks in Hook, Hants this afternoon (14 July 20) and I must say I’m very happy with the work Alan has done, especially matching the 32 year old paint (Signal Red) as red can be a real bugger to match. The bottom of both front wings had been splitting just forward of the inner sill for years due to them vibrating. Alan welded the splits and welded in reinforcing plates so they’re now rock solid, and straight! He also replaced old (1988) filler in the lower passenger door, on the swage line of the driver’s door where old filler had split and cracked the paint. Alan also repaired more cracking filler in the offside rear wing. I’m very pleased with the result and TuRK is now ready for my youngest son’s wedding now postponed from next month due to Covid-19 until August 2021. I’ve used Alan for several paint jobs over recent years and can’t recommend him and his team highly enough, he also recently resprayed other TR Register member’s TRs. More...
