We've eaten here a few times now and our latest trip to 1620 to enjoy their Curry and quiz night was, as always, a fantastic experience. My wife has a Coriander allergy and I forgot to let Zena know but she quickly informed the chef who put together a totally different meal for her; nothing was too much trouble. We had a great night with great food and great company, and the runners up prize of an afternoon tea for two was the icing on the cake. 1620 hosted a hen do afternoon tea for us back in December. The food was was delicious, the atmosphere was great and they were sooo helpful! We finally got to celebrate Christmas 2021 work do at 1620 last night. Zena and her team worked really hard to make sure our table of 14 had everything we needed, not to mention be very patient and understanding with the numerous times we needed to reschedule! ! The venue is relaxed and sophisticated with a great ambience. Everyone’s food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. The portions were so generous that no one even had room for a little bit of celebratory cake that we had taken to the restaurant beforehand! Delicious Sunday roasts! We popped in on the off chance on Sunday before The Hatchling event on The Hoe. We hadn’t booked but we were found a table. Ordered the 2 course special - a roast beef and a gammon ham followed by toffee pudding and ice cream. The roast was served with the most delicious onion in cream sauce which I would LOVE the recipe for!!! And the tastiest gravy I have ever eaten! Generous helpings and friendly staff. We chose 1620 Pub & Eatery for our wedding reception after having it recommended to us by friends and were not disappointed. The venue is very stylish and classy and was the perfect place for us to enjoy an intimate afternoon and evening with close friends and family.
