BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED recognises that it has a duty to its Service Users, staff, commissioners and anyone who is involved with it, to ensure the care and support it provides continues to be delivered at acceptable levels during a disruptive incident. Incidents may be caused by problems with IT, telephones, the building or external environment (such as weather), public health incidents such as coronavirus or flu pandemics or terrorism incidents. Through effective planning and testing of our BCP we aim to:

• Ensure the welfare of our staff, Service Users and visitors
• Maintain clear communication during any disruption
• Reduce the frequency and impact of significant operational disruptions
• Continue to deliver safe, reliable, high quality care
• Fulfil any contractual obligations

4.2 BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED will prepare the business to respond to disruptions by:

Understanding what the key areas of the business are that potentially may be disrupted and must continue
Learning from past incidents where the ability to provide care has been impacted
Identifying what risks BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED is likely to face and the impact of those risks
• Planning how to reduce the risks
• Testing how effective the plan is
• Ensuring that staff understand the role they have when the service is disrupted
• Communicating the plan
• Keeping the plan up to date
• Collaborate with and health partners to ensure a joined up approach to business continuity
4.3 In the event of an emergency incident, BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED will have a clear escalation plan in place that will be communicated to all staff and which is accessible quickly. The emergency plan forms part of the business continuity planning at BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED.

4.4 Responsibilities

BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED will have a named individual who will take the lead on ensuring that a business continuity plan is created, reviewed and updated. They will have responsibility for the tracking of issues that might affect the business of BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED and Service Users and reporting to the senior management so that action can be taken. This person is Shamiso Samuriwo at BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED

At Bestfield nothing is more important than children’s welfare. Children who need help and protection deserve high quality and effective support as soon as a need is identified.
We have a system that responds to the needs and interests of children and families and
not the other way around. In such a system, Bestfield management is clear about what is
required of them , and how they need to work together in partnership with others. At Bestfield Care child centred approach is fundamental to safeguarding and promoting the
welfare of every child. A child centred approach means keeping the child in focus when
making decisions about their lives and working in partnership with them and their families. Children may be vulnerable to neglect and abuse or exploitation from within their family and from individuals they come across in their day-to-day lives. These threats can take a variety of different forms, including: sexual, physical and emotional abuse; neglect; domestic abuse, including controlling or coercive behaviour; exploitation by criminal gangs and organised crime groups; trafficking; online abuse; sexual exploitation and the influences of extremism leading to radicalisation. Whatever the form of abuse or neglect, practitioners should put the needs of children first when determining what action to take. We have a co-ordinated approach – as safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. As it is vital that everyone working with children and families, including those who work with parents/carers, understands the role they should play and the role of other practitioners.
We are aware of, and comply with, the published arrangements set out by the local safeguarding partners. Providing early help is more effective in promoting the welfare of children than
reacting later. Early help means providing support as soon as a problem emerges, at any
point in a child’s life, from the foundation years through to the teenage years. Early help
can also prevent further problems arising; for example, if it is provided as part of a support
plan where a child has returned home to their family from care, or in families where there
are emerging parental mental health issues or drug and alcohol misuse.
We understand effective early help relies upon us and other agencies working together
to:
• identify children and families who would benefit from early help
• undertake an assessment of the need for early help
• provide targeted early help services to address the assessed needs of a child and
their family which focuses on activity to improve the outcomes for the child
Under the Children Act 20045, we have a responsibility to promote inter-agency co-operation to improve the welfare of all children

home. This can only be achieved through collaborative working between health, social care,
Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector and care home partners. Partnerships are
essential, built on shared goals, reliable communication, and mutual trust. At Bestfield Care working
together with other professionals assist us to explore problems outside of normal boundaries and
reach solutions based on a new understanding of complex needs. The benefits of effective
multidisciplinary working include:
The Service User's human rights and the rights of their family. Ensuring that staff have the appropriate skills, competence and experience to deliver quality care. Ensuring that there is a sufficient network of external healthcare professionals available to offer support and guidance
BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED will regularly review the needs of the Service User to establish that
staff can accommodate those needs safely. Any changes in the Service User's condition that cannot
be met safely will be responded to in a timely manner by accessing other healthcare professionals.
Where services are commissioned by or health commissioners, discussion will take place with them
as soon as Support needs change.
BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED actively seeks to enable Service Users to exercise as much choice and
control in their lives as possible. Staff will ensure that Service Users are supported to do so both
practically and through providing accessible information where required to make their own
informed decisions as far as they are able.
Service Users will be treated with dignity and respect which is embodied throughout the policies and
procedures at BESTFIELD CARE LIMITED. Service Users who lack the capacity to make some choices
may require a "Best Interest Decision" in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 will nurture a
culture where enablement of choice is a routine, natural practice. If failings in enabling Service
Users' choice do occur, these will be managed by providing staff support. However, if necessary,
disciplinary action may be taken.
