We called Imperium Engineering for advice on structural concerns our mortgage lender had when doing their valuation. They quickly scheduled a structural survey to be done by one of their engineers. The report was very thorough which we were impressed with and has definitely eased our concerns about potential major structural issues while also highlighting smaller issues which we plan to fix. They have been very good with communication, our mortgage lender required some amendments to the report and this was quickly dealt with by Imperium Engineering. Had some concerns about leftover masonry in my loft. Had 3 builders check it out and give me 3 different answers. 2 of them wanted to do techniques that even I, a complete amateur, knew was against Building Regulations, yet they did not! So I looked for a structural engineer and found Imperium.Chris from Imperium visited along with a colleague. They took their time, listened to my concerns and inspected the issues. Chris explained everything so I could understand, without mumbo jumbo. Ten days later I received the report, which was excellent. It provided a summary in plain English that put my mind at ease (no imminent risk, phew!) and an additional 30-odd pages of structural diagrams, maths and all the stuff a professional builder would need to install supports correctly. Only catch is that Imperium is rather expensive, but you do get what you pay for, and Chris' knowledge was clearly deep. I had Jorden do my site visit and he was on time, polite, very knowledgeable and ensured he adhered to all the Covid-19 requirements. I now await my plans which should be up to 10 working days.
