Helpful and friendly, Ian cleared our very overgrown garden. He strimmed and mowed the very overgrown lawn and cut back the very out of control bushes and shrubs, including a lot of ivy which had taken over one fence from the neighbouring property. He removed all of the cuttings etc. I would recommend Ian for clearance of overgrown gardens. More...

Ian offered to do all the jobs that others did not want to do, such as general weeding. He is very easy going and flexible fitting in work as and when required.

He cancelled the appointment as it was ‘too hot’. I am not using him after his holiday next week, told him am getting someone else, he was happy.

The temperature was 24c? I had done one job already that morning but decided for my health sake to put this particular job off for a couple of days. Client was not happy that I would be able to do it the following week? That's the problem every one wants their work done the the next day? No consideration that I have other work already scheduled in 2 weeks in advance?

Price was fine but I gave the work to another who had been recommended by a friend.

Garden tidying / clearance - highly recommended and a good guy!
What do you love most about your job?
I like meeting new people, and clients and trying to help them with there projects
My grandmother was the original Greenfingers swiftly followed by my mother who could just snip a cutting off anywhere and it would grow.
My Sister is the same and her daughter has passed all the horticulture exams and is a professional garden designer.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Since I retired I have been looking for something to do and as I have been doing small projects for friends I decided to take on more work and decided
to try Barks. Which is proving to be interesting? I still have a small client base I brought with me and this consists of mainly cutting grass and cleaning out flower beds etc.
I also know and use when necessary a small team of tree surgeons who carry out excellent work from large bushes to large oak trees!
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm reliable trustworthy and a good timekeeper.
If I don't know the answer then I know someone who does. Not like some who gives a load of flannel?
