A sensible re-use of a redundant church. Preserving much of the original character and fittings the delightful old building is quirky and attractive with excellent acoustics in the former knave. Even the impressive old pipe organ is preserved and gazes benevolently down upon you. The extra rooms which had been Sunday school and services become an extra entertainment venue ( and services ). You feel as though you are stepping back into a part of local history. Certainly there are many past lives associated with this place and the presence of friendly ghosts drift gently through you as you tread their former paths. Now although the Cause is very well run as a music and lecture hall, it is still possible to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that has always been held within these walls. Oh, what stories they could tell! More...

A very big shout out to Kirsten for an excellent 3 day May Bank Holiday intensive. The deeper and expansive focus on both the pranayamas and asanas was an invaluable experience. I have gained more 'stepping stones' to work on in my practice. Namaste More...

A superb local arts and music centre run by local people, the converted church auditorium is a wonderful place to perform designed in the French cafe style, the main hall at the rear is also a valuable area for many activities

I can't recommend these guys enough for really good quality yoga teaching - their years (decades) of knowledge and experience are shared throughout the classes - with excellent quality teaching which means you can really understand the asanas, move safely, and see real progression in your practice :-))

I have been attending classes at Bath Iyengar Yoga Centre with my wife for just over a year now and we both love it. The teaching is top notch, you really do get the feeling the teachers have dedicated their lives to yoga, and they have a great breadth and depth of knowledge on the subject. One thing I like about the teaching style, which seems to differentiate it from other styles of yoga I have tried, is that it is quite technical. The teachers don’t just tell you to do a pose and leave it at that - in depth instructions are given (sometimes such simple things, but that make a big difference to the pose; you learn quickly that the body and mind work together in the asana as a system, what you do at one point of your body, or mind, affects everything else!). The classes can be quite physically demanding, which came as quite a shock having not tried yoga before. My general health and fitness has improved since starting. Classes are always friendly and have a good-humoured atmosphere. They also sell quality yoga supplies to help with personal practice. Highly recommended. More...
