3 weeks into a 5 week stay, for which being vegan (of 26 yrs) i rang ahead to check if they could cater for me. Their specials board sometimes has a vegan dish, i had a mouthwatering tart of butternut squash & almond, a red cabbage purèe and seasonal veg. A staple on the bar menu is their 5 bean chilli,perfect balance of hot, sweet flavours, not too overpowering as to kill your taste buds.||Chef has made me many one off dishes such as spicey chickpea,apricot mangetout cauli casserole with white sauce,taste sensation! A mushroom & brown rice stuffed red pepper juicey/rich delish. Roast veg, pistacchio, on couscous, lemony peppery wow, zingy! Vegan curry, stir fry. Such a positive energy from chef, the same standard you'd get in a top london veggie restaurant. We went as a group for work to the Isle of Wight.... six people travelling so we did not want anything too expensive. We stayed in a very spacious twin room.The only thing was that the room at the front was a little noisy, due to passing revellers and traffic.

Everything was just right... location was ideal for getting about by bus, room was immaculate, with everything working. Breakfast was excellent Staff were very efficient and friendly, I ha e no complaints at all.

Just returned from another lovely weekend at Yelfs Hotel. Our room (11) was spacious and spotlessly clean , food excellent and the staff could not do enough for us . Vieil hôtel typique bien entretenu avec cour intérieure très agréable (on peut y petit déjeuner, déjeuner). A 5minutes de l'embarcadère, dans la rue principale de la ville. ||Bien choisir sa chambre (il y en a des assez petites et d'autres grandes). Old style hotel well located in centre of Ryde. Our room was large with a large bathroom and was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was large and nicely decorated. Buffet style breakfast was really excellent with a good choice. Items could also be ordered e.g. Poached eggs rather then scrambled in the buffet. All staff we met were friendly and helpful. Yelf's hotel in ideally located in Ryde as a good place to meet. In the glorious summer weather you have to take advantage of their rear garden area to have a few drinks in & soak up the ray's. We had a twin room in he main building up some stairs overlooking Union Street. The room was well furnished with two arm chairs and a stool. The beds were comfortable and every thing we required was there. The one disadvantage was some traffic noise. Breakfast was very good and hot with freshly cooked eggs to taste. I was booked into the annexe the outside look was much to be desired very shabby but on going into the building it was quite nice, the annexe is the building on the other side of the road to the main hotel.
