My husband and I was on a Steam Train Trip and we stopped at station and got a bus into Charleston (inc of our trip). We went into Wreckers to get a coffee each. .. but, after looking at the menu we couldn't resist ordering some food to share. We ordered whitebait and Cream Tea and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Great seafood, tasty and well prepared.The Wreckers Seafeast is quite substantial, arriving in a black enameled pot, loaded with mussels in a creamy sauce. On top of that lies a dozen or so calamari rings and, in case that is not enough, three whole unshelled garlic prawns. My husband took me here for my birthday after being recommend by several family members.We were not disappointed!Although the focus is on fish dishes, they do enough of a variety to sort all tastes. I had a fish curry, which I can say is the best I have ever had. The spices went perfectly with the haddock, cod and salmon My husband had a chicken burger (as he is not a fish lover) and again, he paid it highly.The portions were generous and very high quality.The desserts are all hand made and were out of this world!This place is a must if you want something special.Staff are very friendly and helpful and are very amenable with access and allergies.They do have an outside terrace, but it is a small restaurant, so if say booking is a must.There is no car park, although there is a public car park a very short walk away (you do have to pay for that).It is level access and can get a wheelchair in, although it may be a little tight through the doorway. Excellent food. Really good sized portions . Huge scones! Love the fact there is lots of locally sourced food and drink (even the coffee! ) (And malt vinegar - so good we bought some in the deli) Only problem was trying to decide on one of the delicious desserts! Or the excellent (local) cheese and biscuits. Very helpful and friendly staff. 5☆ service. Thank you. Definitely visiting again.
