Sorry this may be a long review.....
We got married here on 1st April 2017 and absolutely would recommend this as a wedding venue or as a hotel stay.
The hotel itself is gorgeous with lovely rooms. We had the inclusive exclusive wedding package which basically meant 100 of our friends and family took over the whole hotel and all the rooms from Friday lunch til Sunday lunch. This in itself was so amazing. To have all the people we love in one place for the whole weekend rather than just the big day.
The staff were so lovely. In particular Rachael the wedding coordinator who was amazing from the minute she showed us round initially, through the months leading up to the big day (and my hundreds of emails which she always responded to), through the day itself and after. Genuinely thank you so much Rachael!
Also, a special mention to Cat who spent a lot of time setting up the IT needed for the groom's speech.
Everyone raved about every aspect of the wedding from the venue, the bedrooms, the grounds (we got the sun from about lunchtime ☺), the food for the wedding breakfast.
We had the ceremony, breakfast and evening do all in the Coleridge suite which meant we had to come out while the room was changed around each time but because of the grounds and all the little lounges which interconnect, it wasn't a problem at all. In fact, it added to the day.

I seriously cannot recommend this hotel enough, so much so that we're going back there for our mini moon!

We had our wedding here on Friday 16th June 2017 and there is only one word to describe the whole experience, perfect! Every detail was taken care of by Rachael (wedding coordinator) and she put up with all my questions and enquiries leading up to the big day. She took care of everything the night before the wedding and on the day. I had nothing to worry about. The actual day itself went without a single hiccup and every guest has commented to me since the day saying how perfect it was and what a stunning venue it is. The surrounding mountains, lakes and gardens made the most gorgeous photos. The wedding breakfast was really good considering there was over 80 people to cater for and the drinks were topped up through the meal. The waiting on staff and bar staff were very accommodating and they even made me cheese on toast at 2am! Overall the perfect place for our wedding and we are looking forward to coming back on our anniversary! More...

����� Wow..... where do I start.......
Our welcome to the hotel was lovely, warm friendly reception staff who showed us up to our room on arrival very personal touch from a busy hotel.
We arrived to our room to find a complimentary bottle of wine & treats from the hotel as we were staying for our 1st Wedding Anniversary, we were only in our room 10 minutes & a member of staff knocked with a complimentary bag of Gingerbread.
On arrival for our evening meal we received a very friendly greeting.
The food was outstanding & customer service was 5* to say the least.
We will definitely be back & would like to thank all the staff for an outstanding service.

We have just returned from a fabulous 2 night stay at the Wordsworth, celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Having been invited to DJ a Wedding on Saturday evening. I found all the staff so accommodating and nothing was too much for them.
I would certainly recommend this venue especially if you wanted a relaxing setting for your wedding or event.

Really friendly staff who were attentive to requests which made our stay that more welcoming and relaxing. The venue is sophisticated and the dining and common areas are elegant yet the staff and business are very accommodating to children/families as we had our 2 year old present who they were happy to entertain in every way a two year old demands! Simply our favourite place on earth...
Having had our wedding here which as mentioned in a previous review was just perfect,my husband and I returned for a few days and we really couldn't have wished for a better stay!

The staff on reception are so friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble (special mention to Rachael who always goes above and beyond to ensure things are happy and running smoothly)
We stayed in room 12 which has recently undergone refurbishment and WOW it's beautiful with an extra large bed,beautiful village views and a sumptuous bathroom with plentiful toiletries and fluffy towels..
Dinner was a delicious four course served by a lovely lady who took the time to chat to us and recommend desserts of which the chocolate fondant with ice cream left me wanting more,it was just yum!...
This place has an almost magical feel to it with it's beautiful characterful interior and gorgeous grounds to compliment it I would highly recommend staying here if you want to feel totally relaxed and pampered..
We are already looking forward to our return visit later this year :-)

Superb hotel, we had a spa pamper afternoon with a champagne afternoon tea and Swedish massage package which I'd bought as a gift for my friends Christmas present. .. excellent massage, best I've had in ages, quiet relaxed pool, sauna and jacuzzi with views across the snow covered gardens to the fells.. then to the afternoon tea, in a lovely relaxed lounge with more pretty views of the garden and fells; glass of bubbly each, endless tea and coffee and a superb selection of sandwiches, cake and scones, all of which were divine. The staff couldn't do enough for us and we left feeling thoroughly pampered and relaxed.. hoping someone will treat me to my next visit soon! Either way; we shall be back �� More...

My partner suprised me for my 21st birthday by booking a few nights away at this lovely hotel! It has everything you could possibly ask for, lovely staff, stylish modern bedrooms and a great location.
The fact the staff has even wrote me a birthday card and gifted a small champagne made my day! Highly recommend and will definitely be back.... Ive not even left yet! Thanks again Wordsworth Hotel!

Lovely hotel in the centre of Grasmere. Friendly reception. Was given a free upgrade to the Tennyson suite for our wedding anniversary, we didn't ask for a possible upgrade so it was a wonderful surprise. Came to Wordsworth Hotel for my husband's early birthday present and we were not disappointed. Hotel set in amazing grounds and location a beauty spot. Amazing walks just on the door stop ..local shops with everything you may need and local bus service if needed .Our room was lovely, the bed was very comfortable. Room was spotless. Everything we needed . The staff were so professional and very friendly and helpful ..from reception to waitress and waiters. The food was outstanding .tasty ..and looked amazing. Our family party of 12 stayed for two nights for dinner and breakfast. All the staff including reception and particular thanks to Millie and Vlad were super friendly and helpful to accomodate our family incl elderly dad and small children. Bistro food was lovely and affordable and breakfast was delicious. You won't need much lunch but lovely tea shops nearby. Lovely pool, sauna and jacuzzi and extremely clean and well serviced rooms. Lovely hotel in the village of Grasmere with all the amazing scenery of the Lake District on your door step. The hotel could do with a bit of a refresh (slight water staining on the wall in bedroom) but cant mark it down for it, staff are all amazing and the pool/spa area really help to relax at the end of the day.

Location is excellent, food is fairly good but not brilliant.
The rooms are a little bit on the small side but the beds are comfy and the bathrooms are modern with good showers. Staff friendly and welcoming.

It's really nice place to stay over here,staff is well behave food is good,nice English breakfast at every morning,because of it's location at center you can walk around towards market place n William words warth birth place,there is park to remember of his name as well you can go around there are nice coffee shops so you can sit outside during sunny days enjoying coffee with cake even surrounding of this hotel is eye catching,it's Victorian style building attracts you,inside hotel they maintain its authentic look,waiting room,fire place with real wood burner big staircase goes up to first floor,I love to stay here again even after a year time I'm still feeling to be there
