The swimming team coach Catelyn standing by the pool side and kicked my daughter on her back while yelling ," hurry up! ". ( my daughter was swimming in the water close to the side ) After the class, I confronted the coach Catelyn why she used her foot instead of her voice or by clipping her hands. The coach Catelyn apologized but somewhat condescending. Anyways I said Thank you and left -Monday Aug 19, 2019. Then I got a phone call today Aug 21,2019 from YMCA Nickoma saying my daughter can't be continue on the swimming team. I'm contacting the management to file a formal complaint. More...

I absolutely love this place. I’ve worked here in high school, been a gym member since college! It’s a family place, no other gym is like it. They have done an outstanding job with events & workshops for all ages even decorating this year!!! The classes are great, staff is amazing and it feels like our own private club! The playground itself is worth the membership. My kids and husband love it here. We are looking forward to ginger bread making. They continue to make improvements in this historic place. More...

I'm here visiting with my family from Springfield, TN about 25 mins from Nashville. It was my Dad's 88th birthday. He's from Wahiawa. I love to Zumba wherever I am. Being member of the Y let's me do my favorite thing in the world when visiting different places. I love using your facility. Your staff is warm and inviting. And your rockin' Zumba instructors were amazing. Soooo fun!!!! Thank you so much! More...

I don't train Olympic weightlifting anymore as I retired from that sport last year. Its a cheap gym for that kind of thing. Powerlifters train there too. I realized later on that I just wasn't meant for the sport of weightlifting. I do fight training nowadays at UFC Gym as I pretty much decided to get into fighting. There's just more stuff for me to do at UFC than there is at the Y. I even do functional training there. Hey I enjoyed my time there. I used to train as an athlete as a teen there before I found the UFC Gym. Lots of memories. But I moved on. Well anyways that's my story as a member there. The hours at the Y can be improved and a functional training area can be put in there. I know its not a fight gym and it never will be. Most of the folks are friendly there though. More...

Cheri and I will be going back to Minnesota in two weeks (sad emote here) and I wanted to say good bye to all of our friends at the Windward YMCA. This is our third year as snowbirds in Kailua and the Y is our ohana on Oahu. We will miss everyone; members, trainers, and staff so much and will look forward to returning next winter when the winds start to howl over the frozen Midwestern plains. I cannot list all of the wonderful, warm and friendly people we have met and experiences we have had here, I am afraid to leave someone out. But I want to say a special "Mahalo" to Kaipo, my ZUMBA inspiration and Maria, who allowed me to be a guest ZUMBA instructor at the Y this year. Teaching classes at the Windward YMCA has been the high point of my "ZUMBA career" The ZUMBA instructors and students at the Y are 'da best anywhere! Aloha to all of our friends and see you next year! And if any of you stop in fly-over land, please send me a message and be our guest in the St. Croix Valley. More...
