I have just had 2 bedroom windows refurbished, painted and now looking first class by 3 very hard working and polite young men. They also had to contend with secondary double glazing to remove and replace which was all done within 2 days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my other windows are such that I won't need to call them again but comforting to knowing that such a bespoke company are on my doorstep! Both bedrooms were left hoovered and in excellent condition and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to anyone. More...

With our sash windows restoration services we take great pride in being able to resolve issues our clients have with there windows for an affordable price.

William Partridge, the founder of William Richards of Shropshire, began his woodworking career restoring musical instruments as well as hand making bespoke harpsichords, as his workshop grew he was approached by a customer to make a bespoke window. With his skills in woodworking he easily adapted his line of work to bespoke joinery and has done ever for 35 years.

As a family run business,we pride ourselves on having gained a reputation for providing a premium, personalised service to each and every one of our customers, no matter the project size.

Services

For centuries the design of sash windows has remained largely unchanged, the beautiful simplicity of the weight-pulley system allows sash windows to remain untouched and without maintenance for many years. However, they often deteriorate with age and begin to let in drafts and damp; the paint chips away, they start to rattle, and depending on the quality of wood originally used they can begin to rot and become security hazards. Because of these issues, sash windows are often sealed up for good, or replaced with out of keeping UPVC.

In period buildings sash window restoration will often be a more cost-efficient and faster alternative to having new windows installed, whilst maintaining your property's period features and boosting it's energy efficiency and value.

When investing in improvements to your property, we understand replacing your windows is one of the more costly purchases. That's why we ensure our traditional cord and weight sash windows are produced not only to retain your property's aesthetic but to vastly improve energy efficiency, security and value. A worthwhile investment.

Accommodating for any shape, style or size. We produce the necessary sash window components required for our clients desired end result. This is either stand alone lower/top sashes to be installed into an existing frame or the entire frame and weight box as well as the sashes.

Depending on the clients preference we offer our sash windows with the choice of single glazing or low-emissivity double glazed thermal glass.

Our windows are traditionally manufactured with the sustainable, durable hardwood, sapele. Because of it's structural integrity when using double glazed units we are able to keep our rails and glazing bars thin, retaining a key period feature if required.

Like our restoration service. We offer the choice of a range of fixings and security catches in an array of finishes which are both modern and traditional. We are also proud to offer innovative window opening restriction hardware that conforms with strict building regulations when required.

With over 35 years’ experience, we are experts in the restoration and manufacture of sash windows, and aim to provide a premium service for each and every customer, all of our work therefore comes with a lifetime guarantee at no extra cost.
