I caught the sleeve of a Berghaus rain jacket on something and ripped a small hole on the back of one shoulder. I took it to Zip Yard and they suggested adding a piece of black fabric to the back of each shoulder which would look like they were original features. Just collected the jacket and it looks great. Last minute change of bridesmaid dress by the bride (a week before the wedding) and they couldn’t have been more helpful in getting the dress sorted in the space of 4 days, while everyone else I rang hemmed and hawed about whether it was possible, altering the bodice and shortening the skirt. Saved my sanity.

The ZipYard Brighton couldn’t have been more helpful! I went in because my favourite leather handbag had something badly jammed in the zip. The ladies behind the counter answered all my questions and explained my options to me, they managed to fix my bag for me really quickly without damaging it and didn’t even charge me for it. Cannot recommend them highly enough. The last two repairs for me were not easy - a tear in the leather of a skirt and a rip in an open weave dress - but the stitching was so fine as to be almost invisible. Staff always helpful and polite and they text when your item is ready. Great work! More...

Went into Zipyard Altrincham for a repair to a tear on my dress which is a very delicate fabric. I was advised it would be a very difficult job to do an invisible repair. I needed a bridesmaids dress altering quite drastically for a wedding at the end of this month. Five inches from the back of the boned and laced bodice, an inch either side of the underarms of the bodice, spaghetti straps shortening by an inch and also the hem of three layers of the dress taking up by a couple of inches. It cost me £60 total and was COMPLETELY worth it. It was done in 9 days. It fits perfectly now and you cannot even tell it's been altered, I've no idea how she's done it at all but I am extremely impressed. I have had two leather jackets repaired, on one jacket the sleeves shortened and the results are excellent. The job itself was quite a difficult one, I really didn't think one jacket could be repaired, but they were fantastic, great job thank you so much.

FANTASTIC! This shop is a god send From the service, to price and the end result of alterations is amazing! I had a few clothing items altered (various items) They listened to everything I asked for (which was all done perfectly) the staff are very knowledgeable & friendly. I have been using The Zipyard for a number of years now and have always been incredibly happy with the service. I am writing this review though - as recently, they performed two minor miracles for me. Marzenna- the amazing seamstress, managed to Re-design a dress for me - including lengthening by 5inches! This dress - that I never wore before- I now wear all the time. In the same week - I took an inexpensive dress of my daughters to her - she altered it to a beautifully fitted dress- in an incredibly short time. Both items I felt had been re - designed at an incredibly reasonable price. This business offers so much more than basic altering of hems etc. Some complain it’s a little pricier than others - I think worth every penny for the level of expertise you receive. I went into Zip Yard last week to see if they could make a cushion out of my brothers favourite cardigan (who has passed away), as a gift for mothers day. I was so touched by the enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and kindness of the gentleman who served me. I explained it was for a mother's day present so if it was possible it would be ready as it was only 2 days away and without hesitation he said not a problem, even though l could see they were busy. The Zipyard on Great Western Road is fantastic. I took a skirt in to be shortened and also asked if the waist band could be extended as too tight. They used the material they cut from the hem to put two inserts into the waistband. You cannot even see the inserts and the skirt sits beautifully. A really professional job.
