Reception staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. We were too early to check in but they stored our bags for us. The room was basic but clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable (although why do hotels have trouble with pillows!!!) and there was a nice roomy shower. If you wanted to explore Liverpool it’s not actually far from the main attractions. Breakfast was a bit disappointing for the money - nearly £15 for full English - but I suppose it’s a buffet and you can have as much as you want if that’s your thing. Can’t praise all the staff enough at this hotel for making our Works Christmas night out one to remember. Quick and easy check in with lovely staff. The lobby/reception/bar area is very nice and welcoming.I booked a junior suite for my stay. The room had lots of good facilities but there were several things not working in the room (air con unit, cold tap in the kitchen) however, once this was reported to the front desk, it was dealt with quickly.The let downs were a really creaky bed and dirty bathroom floor/walls.The plus points were a well stocked kitchen, bottled water, nice toiletries and bathrobes/slippers.Overall I’d definitely make a return visit. We stayed for one night in a junior suite. The room was big and spacious, double sink in the bathroom was a nice touch. Modern interior throughout the room, air conditioning and heating is a little fiddly, however we picked up how to use it fairly quickly. The bath let the room down a little, the hot water ran scoldingly hot, and the plug was broken and hard to put into the plug hole. We had breakfast the next morning at the hotel which was lovely, a great selection of food and drink. Staff were very attentive and polite throughout the stay, hotel interior is gorgeous. So difficult to follow on from my headline of what to say but explain why.|I booked this hotel on line and for the price I paid for the quality, service, friendliness, facilities and cleanliness all are relevant to my headline. |Their was a minor issue with light bulbs but that would be nitpicking and the receptionist said they would sort it pronto but that was when I was checking out so not sure about if it’s been attended to and still wouldn’t retract my headline. I didn’t eat in so I couldn’t review the restaurant but again as walking through the cleanliness looked great.Only a 9 or 10min walk to the centre or about 12min from Lyme St station. it’s a big hotel but a hidden gem. We’ve stayed here before and chose to do so again. Excellent location close to lime street station and Liverpool One. ||Our room (223) was well proportioned, clean and tidy. Bedding was fresh and clean as were towels in the well sized bathroom. ||The staff are excellent and attentive and are always with a smile. Whilst the venue, the Bar & Brasserie lacked a little atmosphere the service, the staff and the afternoon tea were all very good. Yes its a beautifull building inside and out but avoid room 041. Being on the front with single glazed windows (that dont actually shut) it was noisey. An Aircon unit was brilliant. . . Although you had to stick the extractor pipe out the window. . . .no plug by the windows so it was useless other than as a fan. Went to close the curtains left one fell off in my hand (reported it following morning as it was about 1am informed them we would be out all day but it wasn't even touched) the fold out bed collapsed under our small 9 year old daughter (also not even looked at the following day either, also recently found out this had been bought up by previous guests over a month ago) only one remote for 2 TVs and the TV in the living space would stay on for 5 or 10 mins and switch off which took 10 mins or so until you could turn it on again so not worth it at all. Was missing stuff that should have been in the room. Not sure about the 4 stars now I've written this. . . The wedding was lovely the food was lovely and the breakfast was amazing. More...

What an amazing time we had, for our Staff Christmas party. The food was excellent, fresh, hot and very tasty. I arrahnged a works night out, I thoroughly enjoyed the night from beginning to end and my manager said I had one of the best Christmas nights out ever on Friday. The company, venue, standard, everything was spot on. The starters were a bit slow coming out but after that, couldn’t fault it. All the food was lovely, I couldn’t finish the main meal just because I was full. I was more than pleasantly surprised at how quick you got served at the bar – much better than any other all-inclusive I’ve been to. I'd also like to add, the was plenty of wine on the table, we only had to ask for beers and they were provided, apart from the slowish service (but acceptable due to the numbers) an excellent night. The Richmond is a truly stunning, absolutely gorgeous, undoubtedly phenomenal, one-of-a-kind 5-star luxury hotel. Hands down the best hotel I've stayed at in Liverpool. From the moment you walk through the grand promenade of entrance with its red carpet entrance and crystalline chandeliers, you feel like you've stepped foot through a portal into a world of divine elegance. ||Deluxe features down to every last dripping detail, the lobby floors were a sparkling with a sheen to see your own lovely self reflected, the concierge held the door with a beaming smile while welcoming us, two tellies ensuite didn't seem at all too much, a fine selection of chocolate flavoured teas awaiting our arrival. In heaven or in the Richmond? It's hard to say. ||The hotel staff made us feel at very at home, which the Richmond would be for the night. The gracious Lidia and her fine colleague Amanda took made every last effort to ensure our comfort and satisfy the very demanding needs that our tastes required. Must profess that the effort put in by this incredible hotel staff made our stay even more sweet, as we are highly refined patrons who would surely be leaving reviews. Didn't stay at the hotel but attended a Christmas party event - very pleasantly surprised. Warm, welcoming, friendly staff upon arrival which was the feeling throughout the evening. My friend and I stayed for one night (thank god only one night), room was awful, didn't feel clean, shower tiles on floor were grubby. The carpet in reception leading up the stair was very stained. We could not get to sleep due to shouting and banging, when we told the receptionist it was like she could not care less. My friend and I have stayed at a couple of hotels when visiting Liverpool and they have been lovely, this hotel was the worse I have ever stayed in.
