I love the retro appeal of the tea room here, totally felt transported to the 1920s. They have the most fabulous vintage champagne glasses!

We went to see Russell Kane here last night. Great show. I haven't belly laughed like that for a long time. The Plaza has disabled facilities here but there aren't any disabled parking spaces close to hand if you are thinking of visiting here and use a wheelchair. Ordering the disabled tickets is easy enough as the box office staff were very helpful. There are spaces allocated for disabled patrons at the back of the auditorium and also at the sides of some seating rows. Access is fine, although it was a little chaotic getting in for us as there was a lot of people milling around. Once through that initial hold up though, access to the seats we had was very straightforward. There is a disabled access toilet to the right of the auditorium but be aware that there is a steep slope so getting down on your own is easy enough, but unless you are an Olympian with good upper body strength you may struggle getting back to your seat so keep this in mind! The staff are mostly volunteers who do an excellent job and if you can give a little donation on the way out to contribute to the upkeep of this historical theatre it will be very much appreciated. We recently visited the plaza for Milkshake Live performance with our three year old. the venue was very clean and well maintained, toilets were acceptable and the general atmosphere was overall a nice environment. the performance was enjoyed and great fun, our daughter loved it. There was also the option to buy refreshments on entry and during the interval which is a great way to support the theatre as we all had a great day out. Would recommend to anyone in the north or near Manchester area, was surprised by the interior as well. Sure it’s all original decor but should just go see for yourself. Sat and had a picnic on the steps over the road by the bridge, in the sun it’s a great little wind trap so just gets the pure sun. This was also a highlight of the trip to Stockport. More...

Absolutely fantastic Art Deco theatre. To my shame, despite living nearby for several years I had never been. In the stalls at least, there isn't a great deal on the way of legroom and you will surely encounter queues for food, drinks and conveniences, but these are minor quibbles and you have to consider that the venue is coming up to 90 years old. Huge respect to the volunteers.

The staff are great (ran by volunteers) and the venue is beautiful, restored to a high standard and still has its original features including an organ from as far back as the 1930's. Good choice of seating the stage is viewable from pretty much any seat and is good for accessibility needs. More...

What a fab place. Had a fabulous lunch of sausage on brown bread and it was spectacular. The sausage was the best sausage I've ever eaten and it came on a generous plate of salad. Very reasonable price too. So great to see the place so lovingly restored for the future. Be sure to leave a big tip because the staff are volunteers so I've been told More...

This is a fantastic building. It looks great and has some great gigs, concerts, films etc. I think it's run by a lot of volunteers so it's not the slickest operation but that can be forgiven. There's so much history here and the art deco look make it a wonderful venue. More...

Good venue, easy to get to by train or bus and comfortable seating. On the down side the place needs more bar facilities to reduce queuing and better signage of where the existing bars are. Similarly toilet facilities are not in abundance or perhaps I just didn't find them, don't let this put you off though this is a really nice venue. More...
