Had a wonderful family birthday lunch today with all of my family in the Conservatory. Could not fault anything, wonderful meal, great service, all arranged by Caroline who looked after us from my booking the meal at the beginning of December until we left late this afternoon. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and the food was exceptional More...

We ate lunch here in 2018 and decided to drive out to the Vale of Belvoir to have Sunday lunch and an overnight stay for our second anniversary. The property is very nice in a quiet country village location. It is quaint and a little quirky. It has a lovely outside area and adequate parking. The bar area and restaurant are comfortable and welcoming. The rooms and the rest of the residential area is a little tired and could benefit from more attention to detail so far as cleanliness and repairs are concerned but is has bags of charm and our room on the top floor was spacious and comfortable. We ate a late Sunday lunch and the starter and main course was absolutely lovely and well presented. We ate every scrap and found everything first class and very good value for money. But the best was yet to come. We retired to the homely, comfortable bar area for tea/coffee and met some lovely locals who gave us a history lesson on Belvoir Castle and the local area. The rush over the staff came in to relax and have an informal debrief/meeting. They were warm friendly and had great senses of humour. They involved us and made it feel very friendly indeed. They even invited me to join them and included me when my wife went up to the room to watch a programme she was following. I had a lovely evening with them and it was followed by a gorgeous full English breakfast next morning. Neil the head chef takes pride in his work and every morsel was delicious. All in all it made our special stay even more special. Thank you all! More...

We had a lovely lunch here. We didn't book and just called in as we were passing. From the outside it looked like it was shut, so we almost drove past, but we're so glad we didn't. It was nice and quiet (it was a weekday). Our food (belly pork) took a little while to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. It was piping hot, freshly prepared and delicious with good service and a roaring fire in the grate. Will definitely visit again. More...

We loved our room and the bar and restaurant area are really nice. The staff were all lovely and maybe a bit pushed as there were some minor issues. Very comfortable bed and nice big shower in the room called 21st Century Duchess.||We would definitely stay again if they’ll have us. I think ‘luxury’ is overstating the property but it is certainly charming. || More...

I stayed here for two nights whilst attending a training course locally. I arrived late which was not a problem for them and found the room to be quaint. In the morning I was disappointed to find the shower not working but as I had to be away early I had to leave without showering. I rung and reported it later in the day and the next morning it worked. On paying the bill i raised the issue of the inconvenience of not being able shower and was told there was nothing wrong with it. I do know how to operate a shower. I was given a £10 discount. On my return home the manager did email me and admitted that in fact a fuse had blown. This incident marred an otherwise enjoyable stay. More...

stayed for 2 nights on a Groupon deal between Christmas and New Year. Staff were great made us welcome. Our room was clean and very comfortable, the saniflow was very noisy but all in all great value for money. We had dinner in the bar on the first night. It was OK but they didn’t have any calamari so rather than ask us put smoked salmon on top which my husband really disliked. My duck I asked for pink and was over cooked and expensive I thought for what it was. However the bar was great the log fire lifted spirits and we had a great time. More...

Its a shame that I got so lost finding this lovely old house which has a Grantham postal code but you cross the Leicestershire border on the local roads but once found was in a lovely countryside setting in a typical English village. My room was fine although I should have asked to change to one on a lower level so I didnt have to walk to the top of the house! Also the dressing table tipped everything sideways as the room was tilted! I didnt have time to eat there but will certainly find some time on my next visit to Grantham. More...

It looked much nicer and cleaner than the room I stayed at the Britannia hotel. I wasn't expecting much, considering it was a room ablaba pub but, I pleasantly surprised. Amazing! They even include miniature shower gel and shampoo. Hair dryer available in the room, which I dudntd expect. Really delicious breakfast too. Meals for dinner are a little pricey but, they are well presented and taste delicious.. especially the hazelnut ice cream! I would definitely recommend. The downside is the location is not ideal if you don't have a car. More...
