The tutor manages to get the best out of the tutees. This is owing to:
- excellent subject knowledge and teaching skills
- getting to know the students’ individual learning style, strengths and weaknesses and adapting to meet their needs
- ability to motivate with effective praise and sanctions when necessary; students feel very well supported and know that they cannot mess around.
- establishment of rapport with student
