Then we got a lovely surprise and ended-up scratching our heads wondering at how anyone would score this place less than 5*!The location is spot on. (Just the right side of the lines for free parking). 'Almost' sea views. Not far from the beach. Most importantly, the roasts were spot on. The staff are really helpful and lovely. Comfortable rooms, good location. Beautiful views. My only criticism would be that parking isn't 'free'. As you would expect in Brighton parking is all time limited, so you can park outside for a period of time for free and then you need to move your car, if you're going out for the day you can't move your car so you have to move it to the pay area. It is cheap at £5.50, however not free. More...

An all round great expererience. I currently have a back injury so asked for a roonm withiut many stairs - which they sorted out for me. The receptionist carried my bags in for me and even offerred to pop out nd collect my phone I had left in the car.||Had a great dinner in the bar (nice piece of cod) and off to bed. We held a wake at The Gather Inn Hive Lagoon last week chosen as we liked the location and vibe. Had never been before. Didn't need to worry about no car park as there was ample on street parking. The two sisters who run it were really professional and compassionate. We had a great burger when we checked it out and shared a deli board when we popped into pay.||We had an entire room with bar and patio which held our 100+ guests. It was perfect that people could stroll around the lagoon or by the sea. Thank you girls for making a difficult day run so smoothly.||The gold menu was amazing , fresh food just kept coming. We loved our recent stay at the Gather Inn Brighton UK. Gemma and Tania are the most amazing hosts and their staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was fantastic, with an ample menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Gather Inn is within walking distance to Brighton Pier or the bus is just across the road. Our room was tastefully decorated the beds were very comfortable, shower was great and plenty of room to just relax, all we needed was there for us.||The views from the bar/dining room were lovely, would definitely stay there again. ||Thanks for the awesome hospitality. This is the sixth year that I have stayed here over the August Bank Holiday Weekend and always stay here when I’m down for a relaxing day or two during the rest of the year, great location and views, parking has never been a problem for me, a short bus ride into Brighton itself, the pub and hotel seem to be constantly upgrading and it’s much improved since my first visit, the bar is well stocked with a various range and style of drinks, the food is fantastic and well priced, the staff are amazing and always on hand to assist and advise, the rooms are of a good standard nice and clean and there is the option of a street or sea view, for me I have no hesitation in recommending the Gather Inn for your trip to Brighton or surrounding area.

We loved our recent stay at the Gather Inn. Gemma an Tania are extraordinary hosts, all staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Short walk from hotel will take you to a section of the beach that is a little less busy as it’s a little more secluded. Food was great, staff were able to accommodate dietary requirements and order changes no worries. |On street parking is available as advertised, we used the just park app to rent a nearby driveway to avoid having to worry about parking in the permitted zones and times. |Can’t recommend enough we will absolutely be staying again. Arrived on the Friday morning as it was an early flight from Glasgow . Couldn’t check in until 3pm but staff were happy for us to leave luggage . Walked back into Brighton from the Gather & it took us just under an hour . We quickly sussed out the bus which is the 700 & it passes right by every 10 minutes (20 on a Sunday ) & you can get a day ticket for £4.40 per person . Onto the room . We had a lovely view of Hove Lagoon & the sea . Shoreham port next door but not in our view . Bed was comfy & enough storage for us both . En suite was small but adequate for our needs . Large pub near the lagoon. Always friendly service but the clientele can be a bit noisy. Beer OK, food similarly. A colleague has stayed in the rooms a few times but eventually stopped doing so.

Staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. Think there could have been a little more choice offered on the dinner menu but nevertheless the food that was served was well cooked and well presented. I cannot speak about all the bedrooms but we stayed in a double room on the top floor that was clean, pleasant and recently refurbished. Parking was available but limited.
