Had our works Xmas meal down here last night, food was fantastic! Lots of us had the black rock steaks, whilst others had scampi, salmon etc service was fab! Nothing went wrong, all the meals came out together and Mel and her staff cldnt do enough for us. I've been coming to the gate since we moved to Caister 2 yrs ago and I love it in there. Highly recommended, can't wait to come again and I'll deffo be havibg the sirloin again... Thanks Mel xx More...

We had my daughters 30th at The Gate last night Mel could not have been more helpful! In setting up the room, organising & facilitating everything & clearing up afterwards (it got a bit messy ) Staff are super friendly & efficient. First time we've been in all the years we've come to Caister-on-Sea and it was a fantastic visit. Food not only looked great but it tasted amazing with good portion sizes too and our waitress was fabulous couldn't fault her at all that's why we left her a tip. Would highly recommend the private function room at The Gate for private parties. The staff were lovely and so helpful. We had a surprise party there Saturday and everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back!

The Gate as it has been called all along is getting a much needed makeover. If done properly and not loaded with rent and charges by landlord the pub should rise from the ashes. As for failed venue!! We traded it well for over 3 years, it went downhill ONLY when the handover to Landlords was delayed by some 4-7 months. As a music venue it was always banging, food was offered and at times we had 3 bars full watching 3 different games of sport. Get it right a great future awaits. A Top Class Restaurant of that size would simply never be full or pay its bills and a top class rest does not go with a play area! It has worked previously and will again if done right and priced right. Good Luck hope to see it back booming. More...

Finally After a great refit and new management . This pub is now excellent ,food is fantastic and good value for money,the chunky chips are perfect . Decor is fresh and a great beer garden .Our server was Sharon she was so helpful and polite.
